Okay folks, this is no controversial story. But jokes indeed make great headlines these days!!!

Popular and most loved Rannvijay Singh has definitely become a brand for MTV having being part of most of its shows.

Recently when we chatted with the dashing man at Splitsvilla 9 launch and quizzed him if he was MTV’s baby, he answered in a jest, “I think MTV has used me for a long time (smirked)."

“To be honest, it is one brand that everyone wants to get associated with.  When I started off my journey in early 2003, I was merely 20 and wanted to be a part of this cool brand. And Roadies was one show that was pretty much the extension of what I loved- adventure, fun, bikes, sports and what not. It’s been 13 years now and I think this has been the most fruitful association I could have with a channel. I wouldn’t like to be pompous but somewhere we have intertwined seamlessly and its a great bond,” he added.

The dashing man who is sporting a beard this day is looked up by millions of youth. We wondered if he considers himself as a youth icon. “I am told that I am one, though I haven’t thought about it. I think now I have the responsibility to keep a constant check on myself knowing that there are youngsters looking up to me. You tend to behave in a certain way, curb a lot of things but then inspiring someone is definitely a different high,” the VJ turned actor averred.

Rannvijay who along with a wicked sense of humour also has a philosophical side to himself believes that one should never work for money. “I always ask people close to me to find that fire in themselves that will fuel their passion. Money, popularity will fade away with time but you should live a life with no regrets and do only things that give you a sense of achievement.”

Coming back to the show, Splitsvilla 9 will support the ‘power of being a woman’ with the theme, ‘Where Women Rule’ this year. Promoting the same, the actor quipped, “My wife rules my world. Through Splitsvilla we want to tell the world that women should be treated as princesses. This season is going to be a really exciting one with love, friendship and power overdose, and not to forget the fight getting really brutal,” he concluded.

Well Rannvijay, even we cannot wait for it!!

Splitsvilla 9 will launch from 11 June, 7 pm every Saturday.
