My mother has asked my wife to be in a ghunghat while performing on Nach Baliye: Raju Srivastav

The talented stand-up comedian Raju Shrivastav, who made a mark in the world of television with his hilarious acts on Laughter Challenge followed by his presence in many more shows, is back on TV. And this time he will be shaking a leg along with his beautiful better-half Shikha in the popular dance reality show Nach Baliye 6 (Frames Productions) on Star Plus. As he swayed along with Shikha on Aaj rapat jaaye… at the launch, the couple was evidently shy being in close proximity while dancing on stage. Speaking to Tellychakkar.com, Raju shares, “We are a normal family who definitely feel shy while exhibiting our love openly in public. I have never expressed my love to her in front of our children; so imagine our apprehension when we have to romance on screen.” Shikha too expressed her sentiments, “He is an actor and is used to emoting on screen; but it’s a very strange feeling for me. I am really nervous and hope I don’t let him down.” The love between the couple can be felt with the warmth and respect with which they talk to each other. Sharing an interesting incident, the man from Kanpur, Raju quips, “When we informed our family that we will be taking part in this competition, they took time to give their nod. When I told my mother about being in the stage in front of a national audience, she got upset. But later she relented, but asked my wife to be in a ghunghat all the time.” Then how will the family react now when they see them dancing together closely with the theme being passion? “See we are not the type of couple who will indulge in too much of PDAs but then we will make sure not to upset them with our costumes or dance,” he answers. The actor, who is all set to join politics, also assures that having lived a life of difficulties, he understands the troubles that people face. “I was not born with a silver spoon and thus understand what one has to go through to fulfill even small dreams. And me being a public figure, people will also be assured that we don’t steal their money,” he smiles away. Talking about his future on TV, Raju with a confident look asserts, “With Kapil’s show (Comedy Nights with Kapil) doing so well, I think it’s high time comedians get back. I have done an earlier show similar to this, but everything depends on the channel and promotion today. Kapil is a talented man and way back I had predicted him to be a star. And it feels good to see him reach where he is.” Well we really wish that Raju achieves great success with Nach Baliye.
