She had surprised everybody with her powerhouse performance as the diabolic Sheetal Singhania in Zee TV's Lipstick, now she is all ready with two new shows that are going to be aired at the same time on the same days! What more could an actor want. Nigaar Z Khan has Star One's India Calling and Sony's Ek Ladki Anjani Si lined up at 9:30 pm, Monday to Wednesday starting 21 November. In both the shows she plays the negative lead! "I am excited, here I am competing against myself. I hope viewers will watch both-- you know catch the repeats maybe!" laughs Nigaar, who plays Kamini Khanna, the powerful owner of India Calling in the Star One show, and Laila, an insecure woman who is passionately in love but insecure about its outcome in the Sony show. "She is my favourite actor. She is brilliant in what she does and the best part is that she is very hardworking. When she first did Lipstick, she didn't know how to speak in Hindi, our director advised her to read Hindi newspapers aloud! And she did...now look at her! After Lipstick, Nigaar's look was copied, in this show again, she will make a fashion statement" says producer Shrishti Arya. Although India Calling is launching on 14 November, Nigaar will make an appearance on 21 November. She plays the pampered, all powerful owner of a call centre, who treats her brother-in-law, Aditya, (Vipul Gupta) like her own son. Did she know that her shows were competing against one another at the primetime slot? "I had no clue! I knew that India Calling was being aired at 9:30 pm, but had no idea that Ek Ladki...will be aired at the same time! But they are two very different characters -- while Kamini is completely negative, Laila is a shade of grey!" says the actress who's keeping her fingers crossed.
