Nobody else would have played Bindiya: Shweta Tiwari

From Prerna in Kasautii Zindagii Kay to her current bold and bindaas avatar, television actor Shweta Tiwari has come a long way in her career.

The first ever female winner of Bigg Boss, Shweta is currently playing a fearless and rebellious Bindiya on &TV’s Begusarai. Recently, the show completed a year and the team had a celebration on the sets. We caught up with the beautiful lady and spoke about her journey, life, friends and more. Read on…

Congratulations! Begusarai has completed a year. How has your journey been?
“Thank you so much. It has been an amazing association. The moment Swastik Production came in, everything became smooth and nice. It’s been fantastic,” said Shweta.

Talking about her favourite scenes in the daily, she shared, “I have enjoyed every moment of my character. It has gone through a lot of changes. I get to play a different shade and a new character after every five episodes.”

When asked about her off-screen bonding with co-stars, she averred, “We are like a family. We all have our makeup rooms, but we never stay in them. We all stay in Dadi’s room and have fun, eat and play games. We also have a group, which is called food panda. We discuss about food and what lunch or dinner we’re bringing on the sets. If ever this show goes off-air, don’t know what we will do. Obviously, I will feel bad if that happens.”

“I enjoyed playing each and every character that I was offered. Be it Prerna, Sweety or Bindiya all were different and special to me,” shared Shweta when asked to choose her favorite role.

When asked Shweta about her decision of taking up this show, she quipped, “People had stereotyped me. Through this character, I have broken that image. This was something challenging and different. Nobody else would have done this. I thought I would be able to.”

How has your journey in the glam world been? Shweta shared, “I was very lucky. God has been very kind to me as I never had that struggle period in my life. Ekta Kapoor was the one who gave me this platform so that I could rule.”

She continued, “I never lived my life with insecurities. I got a lot of offers, had creative satisfaction and worked according to my terms. This industry has given me a lot of love and respect.”

When asked about her first cheque, she said, “I got 5, 00,000 and I was very happy. I never wanted to deposit it but I had to. I bought a black Santro with that money.”

Lastly, any message for your fans “It’s been 18 years in this industry and I have never had any lows. Every time there was work and love and I want to give the credit to my fans. Thank you for loving me,” signed off the lady.
