Ouch!!! Ashiesh Roy gets 'bitten' by a monkey

Ashiesh Roy
Talented TV and film actor Ashiesh Roy is wriggling in pain, after being bitten by a monkey!! Phew!! Are you surprised? Well, that’s the latest news from the sets of the film Dil Jo Na Keh Saka, where Ashiesh is currently shooting with the crew in the picturesque locales of Shimla. A source told us, “Ashiesh has been in severe pain after the monkey attack. However, that does not stop him from being his cheerful self. But he’s been ruled out of further shooting in Shimla, and his remaining portions will be shot in Mumbai’s Film City. Ashiesh returns from Shimla today.” Ouch!! We then got in touch with Ashiesh who talked to us as he recounted the bad incident. “It occurred when I along with my co-actress Bhavee Gandhi went to visit the famous Jaakhu temple high up in the hills (situated at 2455 metres on the highest hill in Shimla) on our off day, to pay respects to, ironically, the monkey god Hanuman! We had all heard stories about the notorious monkeys that abound the temple, who would happily rob the tourists of their caps, spectacles and cameras, only to return them intact upon receiving food. I thought that was cool, and besides, I was dying to see and photograph the 108 foot Hanuman idol, believed to be the tallest in the world.” So, after a pleasant circular drive amidst alpine trees, Ashiesh reached the temple and was soon happily clicking away. “Bhavee was smarter. She bought a stick and was shooing away the monkeys with it. I was more intent on clicking pictures. Suddenly a huge rhesus landed on my head out of nowhere, and began wrestling with my camera! I was so startled that I let out a whoop and tried to shake the monkey loose! That’s when he bit my hand! I was petrified, to be honest, as the monkey did not run away, but sat down barely a foot away from me and began making faces at me!” But Ashiesh had the presence of mind to cover the wound with lots of dirt, and he was rushed down the hill to take a tetanus injection. The pain was incredible, but Ashiesh still had the good humour to attribute his accident to the “hand of God!” “Yeh to bhagwan Hanuman ka Prasad hai!” he joked. “I shall proudly wear the scar for as long as it stays. All part of a lovely adventure. And I got great pictures,” smiled Ashiesh, signing off. The actor is currently seen in Mere Angne Mein. We wish Ashiesh a speedy recovery!!
