The biggest battle of dance has finally drawn to an end and the princess of Punit Ke Panthers – the Delhi Girl Proneeta Swargiary has emerged victorious, walking away with the coveted ‘Sunheri Taqdeer Ki Topi’ at the Grand Finale of India’s favorite dance reality show – Dance India Dance Season 5!

From standing in long queues to audition for the show to striving hard to gain mastery over every dance style and outshining others week after week, Proneeta with her sheer hard work and dedication had to floor the Masters and audiences alike.  

Nirmal Tamang, from Nepal and Sahil Adaniya from Jodhpur were the first and the second runners up respectively. The winning trio was showered with love and votes in abundance from viewers in India and across the globe.

Commenting on her win, an ecstatic Proneeta said, “I still can’t believe I am holding the Sunehri Taqdeer Ki Topi in my hand – a goal each one of us contestants have worked day and night for. This, truly, is the best moment of my life. Dancing is my life and passion and winning the show is a dream come true. I auditioned in season 2 but could not make a cut. Since then I have only been training and practicing to make it to this prestigious platform. I am really thankful to ZEE TV for giving me this opportunity. I am also grateful to the audiences for having voted for me and showering me with so much love. But this journey wouldn’t have been the same without the guidance, support and love of my mentor and master – Punit. He inspires us every day with his dedication to dance, consistent hard work and never say never spirit. This is what I have imbibed from him and I would like to dedicate this victory entirely to him”.   

The battle culminated at a star-studded evening which had the TOP 5 finalists putting their best foot forward one last time. The Grand Finale was graced by the leading lady of the upcoming thriller Jazbaa - Superstar Aishwarya Rai and had performances by the three Masters – Gaiti, Punit and Mudassar. Popular DJ and Rapper Baadshah had the crowd grooving with his upbeat numbers, while the strikingly attractive Sana Saeed, gorgeous Gauahar Khan and the dashing Karanvir Bohra along with ex-DID contestants Kunwar Amar and Mohena Singh performed with the TOP 5 contestants. 

With so many stars under one roof, the DID 5 Grand Finale will clearly be one of the most glitzy, glamorous and entertaining evenings to remember for a long time to come!
