Recently, there was news that CINTAA officials gheraoed Katrina Kaif for not having a membership card. Now it’s the turn of other actors who don’t possess CINTAA membership cards. One such name is veteran actor Ragesh B Asthanaa who is currently part of Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka. The actor has been in the industry for more than 25 years now with shows like Khwaish, Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli and Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo under his belt. He has also worked in movies like Rakta Charitra, Always Kabhi Kabhi and Black Friday. A source says, “A few days back CINTAA went on the sets of Sasural Simar Ka as somebody informed them about Ragesh B Asthanaa not having a membership card. It came as a shock for the producer and rest of the cast to learn that such a senior actor did not have a card. However, the producer asked the actor to register with CINTAA as soon as possible as they had threatened to stop the shoot.” Ragesh explains, “Yes, I agree I did not have a membership card as I did television till 1990 and after that I got into foreign film casting. I did get back to TV in 2007 but kept procrastinating. I agree it was my mistake and I should have got registered with CINTAA long before. However, CINTAA did not threaten anybody on the sets but they had called me to inform me about the meeting with them at the end of this month. I shall get my CINTAA membership card then. I must mention that there was also a phase when I could not afford spending Rs 7000 on a membership card. Hence I kept delaying the process but now I shall get it done for sure.” After this guess no one will mess with CINTAA.
