Reshmi Ghosh
Talented and versatile actress Reshmi Ghosh’s tenure in B.K. Modi’s Buddha – Rajaon Ka Raja on Zee TV will end this weekend. Her character of Mangla will be seen breathing her last, but not before giving few golden advices to her son Devdutt, essayed by Devyansh Tapuriah. Talking of the remarkable journey that she has had with the show, Reshmi said, “I have received a phenomenal response for my character of Mangla. I would say, this has to be the best of role I have played in my career. And my last scene was huge, in terms of its importance and scope to perform. I was thrilled when I heard claps coming from the unit members as I performed the sequence. My last scene in Buddha has to be my best work so far. To play an 85 year old woman in her death bed was a challenge. And the exchange of words that she has with her son Devdutt lying on the death bed was remarkable. I had to take care of each and every nuance; I received a brilliant response from the team for my death sequence.” As per this weekend’s track, Devdutt will get the news of his mother Mangla being in her death bed. He would go to Kapilavasthu to meet her. This will be when Mangla will give her last advice to her son to stop all enimity with Buddha (Himanshu Soni) and become his disciple. Soon after imparting wisdom to her son, Mangla will be seen breathing her last. On the overall journey of being part of Buddha, Reshmi averred, “It’s been a very memorable journey, and I wish I played the role of Mangla from its start as I was offered the role initially. I am saying this with all due respects to Nigaar Khan who earlier essayed the role. I am satisfied as an actor, and what more will an actor want when her last scene in a show turns out to be her best scene.” On the equation she shared with her onscreen son Devyansh, Reshmi said, “Devyansh is a very good actor and we have had some great scenes together. Even in this sequence, he has performed very well. Overall, as mother and son, we exhibited a great bond and it showed off on screen.” Watch Reshmi’s soulful death sequence this weekend on Buddha.
