Actress Rohini Banerjee, better half of Vrajesh Hirjee, is a globetrotter in real life who has travelled across several countries as a solo-explorer.

Rohini, all set to make her comeback with Zee TV’s Vishkanya, doesn’t believe in living a high class life but loves being one with the locals. Talking about her love for travel, Rohini shared, “I am a big travel-junkie. Branded clothes and jewellery don’t excite me like a trip to a new place.”

When asked to share her solo-travel experiences, the actress recounted a rather scary tale. “When I had gone to Morocco, I witnessed a very different culture. There, women are not allowed to leave their hair open, which I didn’t know about. Seeing my hair open, people started staring at me on the streets. I was wondering why everyone was acting strange, especially the men. After returning to the hotel, I told my guide and he asked me if my hair was open. He then told me that open hair meant invitation,” she said.

She also talked about the kind of trips she likes to go on. “I love to stay in miserable climates, testing my comfort zone. I don’t believe in spending lavishly and prefer roughing it out. Give me a tent in a forest and I will be more than happy,” she added.
