Salman invited me for Arpita's wedding: Farida Jalal

Farida Jalal

The entire Bollywood went gaga over Salman Khan’s sister Arpita’s wedding. Everyone from the industry wanted to be a part of the glamorous affair. But there is someone who gave the event a miss inspite of having an invitation.

We are talking about veteran actress Farida Jalal.

In a recent conversation with the media, Farida commented, “I have worked with Salman Khan in few films and we still share a very cordial and affectionate relation. He even invited me for his sister Arpita’s wedding, but I could not attend it.”

The beautiful actress candidly added, “I have worked with all the Khans of Bollywood and everyone is blessed with my motherly love and affection.”

The actress shared a lot of her experience in the industry with the media. The actress recalled her days of shooting for Aradhana, “I was a newcomer at that time and was a bit scared. That time Rinku Di (Sharmila Tagore) supported me a lot. While shooting I was not very friendly with Rajesh ji (Rajesh Khanna), but later on when the film completed diamond jubilee and we were invited for various award ceremonies we became friends.”

Walking down memory lane, Farida noted, “I watch all the films of current times, but, somehow feel that the soul is missing. It is not only in the case of a film, but the same goes for literature, fine arts and any other form of art as well.”

She also shared how she is still remembered by the kids for her character in Shararat, “My character Nani in the show became really popular. I remember how the neighborhood kids used to ask me to show some magic and I used to trick them by saying oh, my magic works only at a particular time of the day and not now.”

The actress, who will be back on television with her new show Satrangi Sasural (Zee TV), also noted that for an actor her work should be her priority. “For an artist acting is the most important thing and it hardly matters whether it is a film or a television show. I have done both films and serials, and acting has always been my priority.”

Well same goes for the audience. We simply love to see this National Award Winning actress perform on screen, whether it is a film or a serial, it hardly matters.
