It’s been reported widely about ace producer and director of the big screen, Sanjay Leela Bhansali coming up with a television show for Star Plus. The show which was to go on floors in March (2012) saw a brief delay; and the latest update is that it is on a roll again. It’s been written earlier that the concept of the serial is that of a middle class Gujarati family and their two daughters. It will depict the clash in ideologies of the extended family. Tellychakkar.com now gives you the dope that the show is actually based on the popular novel Saraswatichandra written by Govardhanram Madhavram Tripathi. The title of the show has also been retained as Saraswatichandra. This famous novel was also made into an award winning film which had yesteryear actors, Manish and Nutan. We sent a text message to Gaurav Banerjee, VP and Content Head, Star India but did not get any revert till the time of filing the article. The show has a huge cast with Jennifer Winget and Gautam Rode playing the leads. The show will also have Monica Bedi, Yatin Karyekar, Ragini Shah, Chetan Pandit in the primary cast. Let’s see if SLB manages to create magic in the small screen as well or not!!!
