Second Edition of Sadma Awards is here to honour the "worst" in business

Sadma Awards
It is believed that ‘a sadma can change your life’!! And that’s exactly what is being attempted at the second edition of ‘Sadma Awards’ which will be given away to the most sordid and worst in business. Yes, we are talking of the widely watched stand-up comedy show on the internet, Jay Hind, conceptualized by Undercover Productions, a production house founded by noted writer Mrinal Jha (presently writing Qubool Hai) and Abhigyan Jha. The show made for the internet audience was also aired on Colors under the name The Late Night Show. The first edition of Sadma Awards was held at The Comedy Store, and now the Second Edition is all set to happen this Friday 5 July 2013, at St. Andrews Auditorium, Bandra West, Mumbai. The awards will have prime focus on Politics, TV & Bollywood, with the categories panning a varied range of fields like sports, finance and pop-culture. So folks, get ready to honour the most dishonouring works as hilarious categories like ‘Sadma Shri’, ‘Foot in the Mouth’, `Retirement of the year' , `Meri aukat bhul gaya', 'Nangi Ladki Of The Year', ‘Sadma Vibhushan’, ‘Bankrupt of the Year’, ‘Crime Master Gogo’ or ‘Thief of The Year’ etc are going to catch you by storm. Featuring the comic acts of Sumeet Raghavan, Varun Grover, Ashwin Mushran, Aditi Mittal, Andy Reghu & Rajeev Nigam, the Sadma Awards is sure to get you into a ‘happy sadma’. Talking about the Second Edition of Sadma Awards, Abhigyan Jha, Executive Producer and Creative Director of Jay Hind says, “There are quite many awards given these days to undesirable people. The main aim of Sadma is to honour people with the most dishonouring award. You simply cannot buy a Sadma Award (smiles), and it is the internet crazy audience that has voted and chosen their winner.” Talking more about the awards, Abhigyan states, “I hope there comes a day when people who win Sadma Awards have enough sense of humour to turn up for our event and accept the award in person. There were some great people who won Sadma Awards last year, but none of them turned up. In fact, Poonam Pandey won the award for being the Best Nangi Ladki last year, and she did not arrive for the event. Later, when we called her on our show Jay Hind as guest, we did present her with the award and she went on to accept it (smiles). There was also an award slated last year which was something like ‘The Shit you eat on TV’ and the award went to the drama series Saathiya. So it’s really fun and we hope Sadma gets popular with every passing year.” If you want to have an entertaining evening, get ready to witness the ‘Sadma Magic’ at the St. Andrew’s Auditorium on 5 July 2013.
