Raakesh Paswan, the acclaimed writer who has penned shows like Bhagyavidhaatha and Hamari Devrani and produced the shows, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo and Afsar Bitiya is now planning a show for Shagun TV. Shagun TV which is India’s first 24 hour matrimonial channel will now air a costume-drama titled Draupadi. The show will have a link to the matrimonial content of the channel in its story line. Our readers would remember that Tellychakkar.com had earlier written about Ali Hassan essaying the role of Duryodhan in the show. We now hear that quite a lot of known personalities have been approached for this show. Veteran actor Gajendra Chauhan and Shahbaaz Khan have been roped in to play pivotal roles, as per our source. We also hear that Mitali Nag who essayed the lead role in Raakesh Paswan’s Afsar Bitiya on Zee TV has been offered the central role of Draupadi. While Gajendra Chauhan will essay the role of King Drupad, father of Draupadi, Shahbaaz who is presently doing Maharana Pratap on Sony TV has been finalized for the role of Bhishm Pitamah. When contacted, Gajendra Chauhan confirmed the news saying, “Yes, it is true that I will be playing Drupad in this show.” In addition to this, Gajendra Chauhan is presently shooting for the movies Brahmaand Naayak Shri Sai Baba where he enacts the parallel lead of Das Ganu. Also, he is shooting for an international film titled Kamasutra in 3D. Chauhan plays the role of an Indian Guru who teaches Kamasutra. Shahbaaz Khan told us, “Yes, my plate is full now with Maharana Pratap already on, and the shoot for this new show Draupadi to start very soon. I will play the role of Bhishma Pitamah.” Mitali Nag on the other hand sent us a ‘smiley’ as reply to our query of whether she is playing Draupadi in the show. When asked what the smiley implied to, she quickly sent us a reply that said, “Let the readers guess.” We tried talking to Producer Raakesh Paswan, but he refused to comment. Draupadi is all set to go on floors this month and is slated to go on air very soon..
