Shashank Sethi, who essays the role of Mithilesh in Village Boy Productions’ Afsar Bitiya, credits his co-actor Mitali Nag for helping him nurture his dream of turning into a photographer. It so happened that Mitali aka Krishna’s on screen wedding with Pintoo Singh (Kinshuk Mahajan) provided him with a platform to explore his hidden talent. And the result actually surprised many including Shashank. Says Shashank, “I can say that Mitali’s wedding shoot in the show made me take up photography seriously. Nobody knew that I was clicking the events when the shoot was on. There was no role for my character in the wedding, I was simply sitting and watching the shoot. I realized that I could click some pictures and have fun. I was sitting more than 20-25 feet away from the proceedings, and people kept walking here and there. Amidst all this, I clicked some really good snaps, of Mitali, Babloo (Yash Sinha), Babloo’s son, Tuntun (Shahbaaz Khan) and others. I clicked few pictures of the cameraman too, and he was simply amazed that he could also be clicked well.” On the response he got, the actor adds, “I saw to it that I mailed the pictures I clicked to the entire cast and crew. I got a tremendous response. Mitali was surprised and wanted to know how and when I clicked her.” On his future endeavours as photographer, he says, “I want to click a folio of Mitali to begin with. I will take her out whenever she is free (smiles). The next in the line is my friend Angad Hasija.” Apart from photography which he is passionate about, Shashank aims to continue his journey as an actor, and also wants to get into production whenever he is offered an opportunity.
