A new OTT platform WatchO will soon be launched, and a lot of web-series will be featured on the same to cater to the audiences. Percept Pictures is coming up with a web-series called Breaking News for this platform, which is reportedly an adaption of popular journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder.

Kiran Srinivas and Apoorv Vij have been roped in to play prominent roles in the project.

TellyChakkar has exclusively learned that actress Simran Gangwani, who have done several movies and Television shows including Tu Aashiqui and Ganga, will be seen portraying a meaty role in the web-series.

We contacted Simran to know more about the same, to which she said, 'Yes, I am doing the web-series. I will play a honest and loyal journalist Vidya Naik, who will be murderd as she does the best of her work to unleash the wrongdoings in the society. The makers have taken inspiration from the real-life journalists who lost their lives doing their duties.'
