With the commencement of the New Year, Tapu Sena from the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) is all set to motivate their young viewers with a new social initiative. The ‘Be a Tapu Sainik’ Campaign can not only change the face of our society, but will also give their viewers a chance to be part of Tapu Sena! To be a Tapu Sainik, all you need to do is an act of kindness that will bring happiness to someone.

“After the tremendous success of our Clean India Campaign, we are now trying to involve children and youth in bringing about positive social change. Our children truly shape our society. Every time they make a mistake, they are made aware of it and are reprimanded. But how often do we pat them on the back for a good deed? By acknowledging them as Tapu Sainiks, we are offering them appreciation and further inspiring them to help spread happiness. This campaign will have a twofold effect; one, it will guide our young Indians towards their social and moral duty and second, it will help bring joy to everyone, which will in turn make India a happier nation. And a happy nation will always grow and prosper,” Asit Kumarr Modi, Creator of TMKOC and Managing Director at Neela Tele Films, who, along with Dilip Joshi and Bhavya Gandhi are going to be felicitated with the Gratitude Award by Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel. 

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Tapu Sena believes that today’s youth can be the driving force for change and that one act of kindness can go a long way in creating a better tomorrow. “The idea of the Campaign is exactly what the tagline says; to spread happiness with one act of kindness. I know how any kind of recognition can become an inspiration to do better. We want to urge the Indian youth to be a part of Tapu Sena by taking on various social activities in varied categories ranging from Education, Environment to poverty alleviation and animal welfare, to name a few, that will make India a more contented nation. I hope to have a large Sena of inspired, positive and active Tapu Saniks by the end of 2016,” laughs Tapu aka Bhavya Gandhi.

The target of the Be a Tapu Sainik Campaign is to create an army of Tapu Sainiks across the nation and have a whopping ‘1 lakh stories of happiness’ by January 2017.

To be a Tapu Sainik, children and youth can register as individuals or as a school on www.tapusena.com. They can then submit their experience on their act of kindness. One of the stories will also be featured as the ‘Story of the week’ to inspire others and Tapu Sena will also be recognizing the efforts of select Tapu Sainiks by showcasing them on the website’s ‘appreciation’ page.
