&TV’s Paramavtar Shri Krishna to explore the untold story of Bhagwan Krishna and bhakt Sudhama

Paramavtar Shri Krishna

MUMBAI: Be it the fascinating and light-hearted stories of ‘Natkhat’ Krishna or the victories achieved by the Lord, &TV’s popular mythological drama, Paramavatar Shri Krishna has beautifully depicted Krishna’s life. Captivating the audience with yet another story, the show will be seen exploring an untold and a remarkable side of Krishna and Sudhama’s loyal friendship. Depicting the ideal ‘bhakt’, Sudhama is known to have worshipped his ‘bhagwaan’, a statue of Krishna made by him, out of his depiction and love for the Lord.

The two have set a perfect example of an immortal friendship that went beyond the materialistic desires of life and did not let the difference in the social status hinder it. Known to the audience as inseparable, Krishna and Sudhama’s tales have often enriched listeners and left them wishing to hear more. While mythological books have often showcased Krishna’s unconditional love for Sudhama, a little do people know about the love that Sudhama had for his idol. An ardent devotee of Lord Krishna, Sudhama’s respect and affection for the Lord can be dated to a time much before the two became good friends.

To showcase this extraordinary journey of friendship, the makers went through a rigorous procedure to find someone who would play Sudhama’s role with absolute perfection. Beating two hundred plus prospective candidates in the selection process was Shoaib Khan whose previous experience in the mythological realm portrayed his skill for flawless acting. The 14-year-old actor will be now be seen entering the show as Krishna’s friend, Sudhama.

Ecstatic on playing this new challenging role, Shoaib said “I have grown up listening to several mythological stories, and personally enjoy hearing those of Krishna. Thus, I am extremely happy to have got the opportunity to play Sudhama in &TV’s Paramavatar Shri Krishna. While I was aware of the story of Sudhama and Krishna, the devotee side to Sudhama was unknown to me. I am really glad that the audience will get to know about this side of the story as well owing to my character. Being a part of the show is going to be a fun and enriching experience and I look forward to playing this role.”
