Update: Sony TV's new line up of shows

With 2016 just round the corner, it is time to welcome a new line of TV shows on various channels.

Credible sources have informed us about the upcoming developments on Sony Entertainment Television.

The channel is looking forward to experiment with different kind of content and here we bring you details on the same.

In the coming months, as per sources, Sony TV will launch three new fiction shows and one reality series.

First comes the news of Beyond Dreams Limited launching its drama series. With the production house currently helming only a youth show, it would be interesting to see them back in the GEC space

Sources further share that Bodhi Tree Pictures, known for its much popular Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, is also developing a concept for the channel. It will focus on the relationship between an elder brother and his siblings. Touted to be a fresh project, the casting for the show has already begun.

And finally Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd, known for its heavy drama soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, will supposedly experiment with comedy for Sony TV. The project is currently at the creative level.  

Talking about the non-fiction show, the channel is reportedly working on a large scale dance reality show. Meetings with production houses are in process and a deal would be signed on the same, as informed by sources.

When we spoke to Sukesh Motwani, producer Bodhi Tree he shared, “Things are still at a very nascent stage. Yes, we are in talks with the channel but nothing has been officially signed.”

Producer Yash Patnaik (Beyond Dreams) asked us to call later sighting that he was busy.

Producer Sumeet Mittal could not be reached.

Danish Khan, Executive Vice President, Business, Sony TV on the other hand refused to comment on the developments.
