We believe that we are an equal competitor in the game - Vinod and Raksha Thakur

Vinod and Raksha Thakur
One of the finalists in the ongoing season of Star Plus’ Nach Baliye 6 (Frames), Vinod and Raksha Thakur, took everyone by surprise with their performances. The duo is still to come to terms with the popularity they have achieved through the popular dance reality show. Sounding ecstatic and nervous about the finale, Vinod averred, “I never thought that we will reach the finale, but surely knew that with our hard work and passion we would do well in the show. As for Raksha, she has never performed in her life and it is due to her extra efforts and hard work that we are at this stage.” “It has been a very different experience being amongst celebrity couples, but all said and done the journey has been incredibly fruitful. We got to learn a lot from this competition. The entire team has been like a family with all the judges and contestants having a great time during the shoots,” shared the young man. When we asked Raksha how challenging it was to perform with the choreographers, she smilingly answered, “Well, I feel it’s all about what you have in your mind. If you are strong in your thoughts and have the confidence to win, nothing is difficult. Yes, during the initial weeks I struggled, but later with Vinod and the entire team’s support, we managed to do really well in the competition and here we are in the finale.” Any moment that made you feel that the judges and viewers were being biased towards you? “Not at all. The judges were always very clear and gave marks only on the basis of performances. There were times when we thought we would get full points but the judges did not like it and gave us less marks. So it was never really about sympathy; rather it about how a couple presented their dance performances,” observed Vinod. Asked about their most memorable moment on the show, the couple in unison said their wedding on the set was one moment that they would cherish all their life. “Also I would never forget the moment when Salman Khan came on the set and rode a bicycle with me as a pillion rider. I, for one, am a huge fan of him. He also gave his lucky bracelet to Vinod. So it was special for both of us,” Raksha added winking at her husband. With every contestant trying their level best to outdo the other with some innovative dance moves and style, didn’t they feel insecure with Vinod’s restricted movements? “This season had the maximum lifts in performances and we too included them in our performances. What others did with hands and legs, I did it with just my hands and it was no less. It’s the people’s perspective on how they look at us, but we believe we were an equal competitor in the game,” said Vinod defending their performances. Talking about the judges, Raksha observed that they love all three of them and quipped, “Shilpa was sweet, Terence technical while Sajid was fun.” And what about their toughest competition? “Rithvik-Asha and Gurmeet Debina for sure,” she informed. After having already put in their hard work, the couple has left the finale result to fate. And what about plans post the show? “Raksha plans to try her luck in TV serials, and as for me I am in talks with some international shows. Let’s see how it all works out in the near future,” answered Vinod. Thanking their fans, the lovely couple maintained, “A salute to all our fans for giving us so many votes. We just needed a chance to showcase our talent and thanks to all of you, we could perform week-after-week. Keep voting and showering your love on us.” We wish the couple all the best in the show. The finale will air tomorrow (31 January 2014).
