It seems like just yesterday that we were left shocked by Pratyusha Banerjee's alleged suicide. Can you believe that it’s already a month since she passed away? The petite actress, who shot to fame with her lead role in Baalika Vadhu, hanged herself to death in the house she shared with her live-in boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. The suicide incident turned into a media circus with leaked phone conversations, pictures of the dead body doing the rounds and every Tom, Dick, and Harry holding a press conference to put forth their views. Since the beautiful actress was not present to defend herself, her life was ripped apart by everyone who had access to internet. The actress, who participated in a reality show with her boyfriend, was a bundle of joy who found fame post a talent hunt. But unfortunately, her joy was short-lived as she succumbed to the pressure of being in the limelight. The most brutal shock came when forensic reports suggested that Pratyusha was pregnant and had got aborted few days prior to her death. Her beau, Rahul was booked under sections 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC after her parents filed a case against him. After weeks of police and court summons, his lawyers have managed to get him an anticipatory bail. With the case still being talked about, we pray for the actress’ soul to finally rest in peace.
