Earlier, in the day we wrote about a few bold and beautiful ladies of the television industry who are disliked by their on-screen families for their evil minds and deeds. And now we move on to the devils (little exaggeration here) of the TV industry. They are the ones who ruin the happiness of our female protagonist on TV. The Twelfth Indian Telly Awards has put these men in the category of Actors in a Negative Role. Here, have a look at the list… Going alphabetically, Abhaas Mehta as Shyam Jha of Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (4 Lions Films, IMRC Entertainment, Panglosean Entertainment) stands first in our list. This good looking actor went grey to black in this love story. He not only cheated his wife Anjali (Daljeet Bhanot) but also the rest of the family especially, Arnav (Barun Sobti) and Khushi (Sanaya Irani). Since Abhaas is an extremely talented actor, hence he took each and every scene on the show to a new level with his incredible performances. Next on our list is the very talented Kiran Karmarkar who was seen in a completely new avatar as Tej Baldev Singh Bundela in Colors’ Uttaran (FilmFarm Productions). It was nice to see him in a dehati look with dhoti, kurta and kajal in his eyes. Moving on from his looks and talking about his performance, he was a negative character with a very clear objective; he knew which way he had to head and did exactly that. He also added a comic element to the show by falling in love with Mukta (Sreejita De) who was way younger than him. ‘Beautiful’ is the word for the manner in which Kiran played this character. We don’t like it much when handsome hunks go grey, but, here we have yet another good looking actor playing a negative character and that none other than Krip Suri. Krip is seen as Rahu Kaal in Life OK’s Savitri (Flying Turtle Films). He has a past connect with Savitri when he was in love with her. Hence, he has been trying his best to separate Savitri and Satya. Well, we were just talking about hot bods going grey and here is the very charming Mahesh Shetty better known as Siddhanth Amarnath Kapoor (Sid) of Sony Entertainment Television’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain playing a negative role. He is seen as a mean guy who wants to take over Ram’s (Ram Kapoor) business. The very filmy show Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Nautanki Telefilms) wouldn’t have had a grand start had it not been for Raj Zutshi’s impressive performance as Balraj Choudhary. He played an evil man to the core where he ill treated his wife Padmini (Pallavi Purohit) and also tried killing his own daughters Madhu (Drashti Dhami) and Trishna (Aarti Puri) in a journey to get an heir in the family. The role of Balraj was played very convincing by Raj. Zee TV’s unique story Phir Subah Hogi (Sphere Origins) saw Varun Badola in a grey shade as Thakur Vikram Singh. He was seen as a man with a heart but in the wrong place. He happens to fall in love with Sugni (Gulki Joshi) the lead protagonist in the show. And his ever growing love for her makes him do all the bad things in the world. Varun, as an obsessive lover, did a fabulous job. We are sure you have your favourite in this list.
