He's set a world record with CID. Now, he wants to better his own record with Aahat 2. B P Singh, the intrepid producer-director of ace thriller shows, has, what he admits is a fetish for fresh challenges. Two months after he entered the Limca Book of Records and took a shot at the Guinness Book with a 110 minute long single-shot episode of CID, Singh is toying with the idea of besting his own feat. "A three hour episode of Aahat 2," he says with a twinkle in his eye. Aahat, the thriller show that has been with Sony since its inception and had taken a sabbatical, is back on air since last month. Making a special episode of Aahat is going to be more difficult than making CID thanks to the various special effects employed by the serial, acknowledges Singh. But records apart, the astute producer is also well aware that a long running serial, despite its high ratings, needs to keep viewer interest alive by constantly innovating. CID for instance, has started incorporating the human angle, introducing viewers to the personal lives and relationships of the protagonists. One of the episodes of the forthcoming CID Special Bureau will in fact show the resurfacing of ACP Pradyuman's son, who was shown shot at by his own father in the eighth episode of CID years ago!
