Willow war: Team Rangrasiya and Beintehaa battle hard on the ground

Willow war: Team Rangrasiya and Beintehaa battle hard on the ground
Whenever a show achieves the milestone of completing a century of episodes, a lavish party is organised to celebrate the occasion. But Colors’ two very popular shows Rangrasiya (Tequila Shots Productions) and Beintehaa (Fortune Productions) chose to revel in a different and interesting way. Yesterday (16 May), both the shows completed 100 episodes, and they chose to play a friendly cricket match. Held at Goregaon Sports Club, Rangrasiya team was headed by the dashing lead actor of the show Ashish Sharma but with the cute lead of Beintehaa, Harshad Arora hurting himself, producer of the show Farhan Salaruddin captained his team. Both the lovely heroines Sanaya Irani (Rangrasiya) and Preetika Rao (Beintehaa) remained missing citing prior commitments. But the other cast and production team members made sure that the playing 11 were cheered and jeered equally. Rangrasiya having won the toss chose to bat first and were seen hitting boundaries with full go. And excited Saurabh Tewari, producer of Rangrasiya who was at his cheering best said, “We are very confident that we are going to win. Ashish is a wonderful player and along with that there are some more key players who are going to help us win.” He quickly ran away to shout along with his team when Ashish hit a six. Ashish who played fabulously looked a bit disappointed to have not carried on till the end and told us, “We had been practicing for a week and it was really a great experience. As a normal Indian guy I have always been interested in cricket and this match just refreshed my childhood memories.” Ashish’s wife Archana Taide was by his side all along and informed that she too loved cricket. “This is the only common factor between us and this is also a big boon in our drawing room for we are hooked to cricket on TV together,” she added with a laugh. The Rangrasiya team made 142 in 20 overs and it was Farhan and his Beintehaa team’s turn to hit it out. Harshad who was seen cheering his best with a bandaged hand said, “I am really disheartened that I could not play as I fell down while practicing. I am here for my team and hope that they win.” The producer who tried his best to save the already drowning ship was run out soon. “It was sad, but then it’s just a game although I wish we could have managed to make a better score. Since I don’t like partying, I and Saurabh decided for this match and I am glad that it turned out to be a great time.” And finally Rangrasiya won by 100 runs, getting the Beintehaa team all out soon. Ashish happily celebrated with his team with the match trophy. The cast and crew of both the team then cut a cake to end the game on a sweet note. This was truly a different way to celebrate!!!
