TV Newcomers (Male) - 2014

2014 saw many a new comers making their screen debut on the small screen. With the year coming to an end, we take a look at the best male newcomers on TV.

Harshad Arora (Beintehaa):

On the Colors' popular show 'Beintehaa', Harshad played the role of the main lead 'Zain'. His role was appreciated by the audiences and the critics alike. In fact, he was felicitated with a number of awards for his role.

Mishkat Verma (Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya):

The 25-year-old made his acting debut on Zee TV's 'Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya' as Raj. The coming-of-age love story had the lead actors struggling to come to terms with their notions of love, ultimately letting love overtake their differences.

Vatsal Sheth (Ek Hasina Thi):

He did not have a fabulous run on the big screen, but his small screen stint has proved worthwhile. His role as 'Shaurya' on Star Plus' Ek Hasina Thi was well appreciated. Loosely based on the American drama 'Revenge', the show has hit the right notes with the public.

Zaan Khan (Jhalli Anjali):

The show did not have a good run on TV, but Zaan Khan's role was well appreciated. Even though the show belonged to the female lead, Zaan's performance made us take notice.

Rohan Gandotra (Everest):

The daredevil journalist Aakash Joshi of 'Everest' has become a household name. Thanks to his dazzling dimples and acting chops. While the Star Plus show has become a hit for its extravagant production design, it's Joshi whose role has become a rage.

Sahil Salathia (Everest):

Playing a high octane mountaineer has made this Delhi boy a star with the audiences. His fit and chiseled body and determination has given him the much needed exposure.

Mohsin Khan (Nisha Aur Uske Cousins):

As the NRI Ritesh, Khan's track in the Star Plus show, was well received. He might not have been cast as one of 'cousins' on the show, but his role was significant nevertheless.

Tahir Mithaiwala (Nisha Aur Uske Cousins): Making his debut in show boasting of an ensemble cast is a big risk. But it paid off for Tahir whose role as Viraj in the Star Plus' popular show was the talk of the town, and is still being talked about.

Aakarshan Singh (Maharakshak Aryan):

Not all superheroes are appreciated. But Singh's superhero act as Aryan on Zee TV's finite episodic has become a hit with the kids and oldies alike. We hope he gets more offers to star on TV.

Sumit Bharadwaj (Shastri Sisters):

The Colors' popular offering may be all about the sisters, but that hasn't stopped the audiences from loving and appreciating Neel Sareen aka Bharadwaj.

Sahil Mehta (Suhani Si Ek Ladki):

Yuvraj, Mehta's character, is arrogant and rich with shades of grey. While the good looking lad has no qualms playing such a role onscreen, he calls himself a really nice chap in real life.

Utkarsh Gupta (Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan):

The popular youth show not only gave Gupta a bunch of fans, but also alleged girlfriend co-star Niti Taylor. Hmm. What a way to make your debut, eh?

Parth Samthaan (Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan):

He became a household name as 'Manik' on MTV's coming-of-age youth show. The youngster managed to leave his mark in a short span of time as the show became a surprise runaway hit.

Vin Rana (Mahabharat):

In the epic tale, Nakul is not the hero. As all the eyeballs are on Arjun. But on the popular show, Rana's character has been well appreciated. We would love to see this former model in other roles soon.

Lavanya Bhardwaj (Mahabharat):

Another newbie was roped into play Nakul's twin brother Sahdev. Lavanya not only looked a lot like Vin, but their body language and acting skills were similar too.

Saurav Gurjar (Mahabharat):

Former wrestler debuted on the small screen as 'Bheem', thanks to his body and personality. It's no wonder that he has struck a chord with the audiences.

Thakur Anoop Singh (Mahabharat):

Playing the role of Dhritarashtra wouldn't have been an easy one for this lad, but he managed to pull it off like a pro.

Yudhishtir (Airlines):

The Star Plus' show may have failed to take off as well as expected, but VJ Yudi's role as pilot Aakash Verma sure got the show some eyeballs.
