Stardom and popularity does not come easily for actors!! Relentless hours of hard work amidst sleepless nights and strict deadlines make an actor’s job really special. And to emerge as a winner in one’s craft by keeping the viewers entertained, and garnering numbers amidst stiff competition is simply not a cake walk. 

Hats off to the actors’ fraternity for going through all this!! 

The year 2016 saw some fascinating performances coming from the male fraternity of actors!! And in a Year Ender Feature on the TV Face of 2016 (Male), we present to you the top actors of the year gone by!! The list here is provided in alphabetical order. 

Arjun Bijlani

The year 2016 certainly belonged to the one and only Arjun Bijlani. His life’s turning point has come from his work association with the Czarina, Ekta Kapoor. While Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi laid the perfect foundation for it, shows in 2016 like Naagin, Kavach, Naagin 2 set the tone for Arjun’s stupendous success. His role of Ritik Raheja will be remembered for long and his awesome and scintillating chemistry with Mouni Roy took Naagin to the pinnacle of success. Now, Arjun has set path towards achieving more glory with his show, again of Ekta’s, Pardes Mein Hai Meraa Dil. And the magic with the viewers certainly continues as his pairing with Drashti Dhami has already started creating waves. This actor is all set to have a great 2017 too. 

Dilip Joshi                                         

Dilip Joshi is a person whose ‘high energy levels’ will never not let him down!! His relentless hard work put into the character of Jethalal in the evergreen comedy show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has only taken him miles forward in the popularity chart in the year gone by. Superbly talented, Dilip comes across as an actor who is all grounded with all the success he has got. 

Kapil Sharma             

He is an undisputed champion who is certainly capable of calling the shots!! And he has proved the same in 2016. Yes, his show on Colors, Comedy Nights with Kapil was a huge success, but to repeat the same formula on a rival channel (Sony) was something remarkably special. And Kapil Sharma did just that!! He’s provided the TV viewing fraternity a laugh-riot like The Kapil Sharma Show, which will be remembered for many years to come.

Karan Patel    

Undeterred by the controversies surrounding his personal life, whether it was the earlier breakup with Kamya Punjabi, his marriage to Ankita Bhargava or of the now-and-then reports of Karan’s sidey love-filled nights, and of course the rumours of not all being well with Ankita at home, Karan’s professional life seems to be rather more meaningful and eventful. Karan has indeed lived up to the expectations of his fans by living the role of Raman to ease for all the years. His performance as Raman in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein has won him many rewards and of course, love and affection from fans. 

Prince Narula

A surprise entry into the Top Faces of the year list, Prince Narula’s fiction debut with Badho Bahu has indeed proved that he is a good actor. It now looks as though the role of Lucky in the show was tailor-made for Prince. Such is the conviction with which he has been playing the lead role. 

Ravi Dubey

The year 2016 saw Ravi Dubey come out of the adorable role of Siddharth in Jamai Raja, only to play the next generation lead Karanvir in the show. Effortless in his acting, Ravi with his sparkling exuberance and vibrant attitude has charmed one and all with his portrayal in the show. He has certainly remained the main pillar on which the drama has been doing well. His on-screen chemistry with both Niaa Sharma (earlier) and Shiny Doshi (present) has been really appreciated. 

Ssharad Malhotra    

The year 2016 has been bright, warm and successful for Ssharad Malhotra. His entry into Balaji Telefilms has given him all the limelight possible and success too. As the eternal lover Rishi, Ssharad has been spreading his magical spell on audiences. His pairing with Kratika Sengarr has gone on to be much appreciated. And Ssharad being at his romantic best, has given much to the success story of this reincarnation saga.

Shaheer Sheikh

The man earlier charmed everyone by playing Arjun in Mahabharat on Star Plus. But to pick up a complex character like Devrath Dixit, a man who even in today’s time acts according to the mindset of his mother was indeed a brave challenge. And to come up as a winner is actually a feather in the cap for Shaheer. He has so elegantly played the man who has been sandwiched by his mother and lady love. In a phase where every male actor in the industry will love to do roles that show valour and courage, here is one actor who has lived and played the complexities in his character to perfection. 

Vivian Dsena                          

Vivian Dsena has yet again scored ‘gold’ by opting for a different yet interesting role with Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. Even when the revelation of Rubina’s character being a transgender was making rounds, one could have wondered what role Vivian would play in this typically woman-oriented plot. But he has yet again proved that his selection of role and show is perfect. Vivian is doing a great job as the man who is going through the complexities of life, after marrying a woman who is a kinnar. Great job, Vivian!!
