Hot numbers or damp
squibs?
 In
the end, only 35 candidates auditions on Tuesday evening at the
Hyatt, making channel head Yogesh Radhakrishnan's earlier assertion
that "Mumbai is a huge market for Zee Music, we look forward
to a big turn out of aspiring girls to participate in the audition
for our hunt for Item Bomb for Musafir" sound a trifle over-optimistic.
To cap matters, not many
of the aspiring sirens expressed willingness to shed their inhibitions,
nor did they express much inclination to give up their existing
careers for a celluloid career, according to a radio station that
aired some interviews with the babes.
With the field for item numbers
expanding, one would have assumed a metropolis like Mumbai would
throw up some more aspiring item numbers. One assumed wrongly,
presumably.

For
those of you Kyunki...fans the world over, here's some news
that will warm the cockles of your heart!
A
little bird told us that Sangeeta Ghosh hiked up her rate 2.5
times when she was approached to play Mahi in Des Mein Niklla
Hoga Chand. The bird further informs that the pouting voluptous
babe got away with it! Seems, Star strongly felt that the show
would die a quick death if they didn't bring her back. Let's see
if Pammi, err, Mahi justifies her exorbitant rate. Think of it,
Star has not taken an enormous risk. Another bird tells us that
they have signed her for four or six months. Or maybe Sangeeta
wanted it that way? Offers are pouring into her kitty and she
would like to weigh them. Meanwhile, a third bird (birds too are
crazy about Sangeeta!) tells us that her second current assignment
on the tube Zameen Se Aasman Tak might soon be phased out.
Renuka
of Kumkum- Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Tassnim Sheikh, is shouting
herself hoarse that she is the first one to do a Pakistani serial
(Partition Ek Safar) even before ex-Kkusum Nausheen Ali Sardar
(who has lost oodles of weight and is looking hot, by the way) and
Aamna 'Kashish' Shariff. "I play the main lead of Zainab, a
girl from India. A Muslim guy comes to India and falls in love with
me and wants me to marry him and settle in Pakistan. The 40-episode
serial has been shot in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India (Delhi, Lucknow,
Ajmer, Mumbai, Panvel). We didn't speak about the serial earlier
because we felt the issue of the serial was sensitive at that time.
The serial has been produced by Mrs. Rana Shaikh who is the chairperson
of Geo channel." Why should we mind giving you the credit if
you're telling the truth, Tassnim? 
The
mosquitoes know whom to bite and where to bite. Like men, even
they are crazy about beauties. Recently, Aamna Shariff was down
with malaria. But bechari sunder ladki could take only
two or three days off from her hectic schedule of Kahiin To
Hoga. Reason? The shooting for the wedding week was round
the corner and she was naturally supposed to be present on every
occasion. Now for the breathtaking part. Mausiji (Nim Sood) had
designed six special costumes for this special beauty for the
six different occasions that culminate into the wedding. You can
bet your last penny that she will look hot in all six. As for
us, we can't wait.
Is
the entire focus going to be on Kunika Sadanand Lall (Boy! She
is doing a helluva job) & Co, in Ekta's Kahaani Ghar Ghar
Kii for some time hereafter? Not really. Manasi Varma is knocking
the doors of the obstetrician's room. And don't you dare think
that this will be one of those common TV deliveries where the
child will be born dead, you know how it is when an unwanted baby
is born on Indian television. Ms Varma is all ready to become
the mother of a baby boy! 
Have
you noticed that Nandini Sen is hardly being seen in Ekta Kapoor's
Kesar on Star Plus. Our sleuths got to work. This is what
they sniffed out. The girl had contracted jaundice and gone on
a month's leave. But this girl is not easy to work with. She has
loads of attitude and gets along with hardly anyone on the sets.
