'Tip tip barsa paani'

These are a few of my favourite things…
Raindrops on roses,
With Bhajjis and coffee....

Coloured umbrellas, raincoats, jeans and pants folded up, and vehicles splashing water all over on congested roads. Yes, we are talking about the monsoon in the capital of tellydom, Mumbai. Telly Chakkar is all set to tell you what your favourite stars from the small screen love doing during rains…

Vishal: rains drive me high

Rain reminds me of….
The puny little veejay, Mrs. Warsi aka Maria Goretti gets reminded of her childhood. "As a kid I remember there use to be a tree which had a different kind of a shine during the monsoon". She laughs, "I know you won't believe me. I recollect making boats, and putting them in the rain water." Jassi's Maddy alias Rajesh Khera, can only think of 'green colour'. The Hubahu lady Sandhya Mridul symbolizes rain with 'geeli mitti' (wet mud). Recollect Sanju from the Dekh Bhai Dekh fame? A now grown up Vishal Singh sighs, "Rains drive me high. I love them. They make me romantic." The new veejay entrant on ETC, Jyoti Jha affirms "I am a roamer, so I just get lost in my fantasies when the rain comes on."

This is my favourite song….
Maria and Vishal tune to a song by Bacharach,
"Raindrops keep falling on my head,
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed,
Nothin' seems to fit,
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling… . "

Sandhya says she's reminded of the Amitabh and Smita duo, "Aaj rapat jaye to". Jyoti says "Rimjhim ghire sawan" is her fav rain song.

Jyoti: 'I am a roamer'

Rainy rainy get aways…
Sandhya prefers going to Mahabaleshwar in the rains. "Since Arshad is outdoors for his shoots, I am planning to take my 10-month baby to Goa". This happens to be the first monsoon of his life so I want to make it memorable", affirms Maria. Rajesh favours sitting in the open as travelling is bad during the rains. Vishal says he loves driving to Lonavala in the monsoon months.

Rain shields…
Maria says she's been forced to invest in a red umbrella, thanks to her forgetfulness. "I need to buy one every year," she sighs. Sandhya and Vishal both prefer getting wet rather than protecting themselves from the rain. Rajesh remarks, "I love walking in the rain."

Sandhya: 'I hate traffic jams'

Kya khayen piyen?
Rajesh and Maria freak on vada pavs, pakoras and a cup of chai. Sandhya comments "I love eating all the wrong things like chat and bhajjis." Jyoti on the other hand, wants to go the South Indian way and prefers a dosa by the sea side!

One thing that puts me off …
Vishal complains about the sewage systems. Sandhya hates the traffic congestion and the roads. "We are unfortunate enough to have the roads which are never to the mark to face the rains", laments Sandhya.

...And as the rains come pouring down...we quickly take refuge in the warmth of our homes and spare a thought for our favourite stars who have to report to work...come what may...rain or thunderstorm!
