A
Maharashtrian wedding in 'Kkusum'
Is
Maharashtra the flavour of the season after Abhijeet Sawant's
crowning as the Indian Idol?
Kkusum
with Kumud: No more tears
|
The
Maharashtrian backdrop of Sony's Kkusum will get an
reinforcement in a few days' time with Kshitij and Kumud tying
the knot in typical Marathi style.
Aaksha
Goradia (Kumud, Kkusum's daughter) and Amit Sareen (Kshitij)
will be wedded in a ceremony, to be attended by top personalities
from the Marathi entertainment industry - Mrinal Kulkarni,
Sachin Khedekar, Bharati Acharekar, Rohini Hattangadi and
others. The episode is being filmed on Monday at the Sankraman
Studios in suburban Mumbai, while the

|
episode featuring the reception will be shot on 22 March,
Tuesday, it is learnt.
Sony
will be playing their trump card- Indian Idol- as well.
Prajakta Shukre, Abhijeet Sawant and Rahul Vaidya will also
be there.
While
Prajakta and Rahul will sing a duet, Rahul will also sing
something from the album which he has cut for Sony.
We
do not know whether the pre-wedding rituals of a Marathi wedding
-Sakhar Puda, Simant Pujan, Ghana Bharne, Laxmi Narayan Puja,
Kanyadaan Suun Mukh Baghne et al- will be shown.
But
Ekta Kapoor's trusted lieutenant Nivedita Basu informs, "There'll
be a reception too."
Now,
Maharashtrians generally arrange a lunch in the afternoon
before the evening reception. A peculiarity of the lunch is
that not all the people sit together to eat. Initially, the
bridegroom's family members are made to have lunch. The couple
takes rounds of the mandap where the guests are having lunch,
serving sweets and making sure that everyone eats well. Then
the bride's family is asked to go ahead. In the end, the couple
and their parents have lunch together.
Will
we be seeing an elaborate Maharashtrian affair on Sony?
