Who
wants to kill Smriti Iraani?
Star
status on Indian television, a happy marriage, two lovely
kids, and an active life in politics. Add to that continuing
death threats for the past few days, and you have Smriti Z
Iraani's current life in a nutshell.
The
actress has now filed an FIR in a Mumbai police station, complaining
that three men have been calling her up and threatening to
take her life, reports Vickey Lalwani.

No
laughing matter - Smriti says she's been plagued by death
threats for two weeks |
In
what seems to be one of the most absurd threats, Smriti Z
Irani aka Tulsi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has
been threatened that she should stop acting else...! This,
at a time, when Tulsi is hardly at the pinnacle of her glory.
The demi-matriarch of the Virani household is currently languishing
in jail, convicted for murdering her son, Ansh. Wednesday's
episode might just have her being escorted home by Mihir after
her release, but that's hardly enough to give rivals sleepless
nights over her acting prowess and potential. So, who could
be the mystery callers?
"It
all started two weeks ago. The callers know my exact whereabouts-
my call times, with which actor I shoot the first scene on
a given day....."
"I
thought that the calls would subside, but instead they started
increasing. Yesterday (Tuesday) was the limit. I was bombarded
with threats. I could not take it anymore. I decided that
I would lodge an official complaint with the police."
Smriti
says that there has not been any extortion demand whatsoever.
So, is Smriti's exit from Kyunki.... all the anonymous
callers want?
She
continues, "Shockingly, one of the callers called again
to say that he even knew that I was reporting the matter to
the police this evening. The cops came to the place where
I was working. They took me to Oshiwara police station where
I lodged my complaint. One of the numbers from where I have
been getting the threats is a Tata Indicom number," she
reveals.

No,
she's not the trigger happy one, Smriti here is just practising
the shot that would bring Ansh down |
According
to Smriti, she has no clue as to who is stalking her. "There
is someone very close to where I am all the time, who is leaking
out the information" she suspects, adding, "I wish
I knew. We work in such a crowded atmosphere. Still, I will
report for my work tomorrow."
As
to her personal life, that's been in turmoil ever since the
threats began, she says."The family is in a state of
shock. Actually, we have been quite worried since the past
two weeks itself, but I wasn't letting it show on my face."
Obviously.
One saw a beaming Smriti and a contented Zubin receiving guests
at the Rang Barse Holi function organised by Star in
Mumbai last Saturday, with not a wrinkle of anxiety showing
on their faces.
Smriti
says that the cops dropped her back home safely on Tuesday.
"Maybe it's due to the fact that I have made some mark
in politics. But then, these guys want we to stop being an
actor. I am puzzled, to say the least. I have just come back
from all the ordeal," she told us at 1.15 am on Wednesday.
We
are waiting to see what the police unearth.
