His
style was quite responsible for his exceptional
performance in Indian Idol, which
helped him reach the final 10! Amit Tandon
can now be tracked in Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai
which keeps his exclusive style intact.
Here he talks about his styling bits to
Riya V. Anandwala.
What
is more important for you, being comfortable
or being stylish?
It's definitely more important to be comfortable.
What is your definition
of being modish?
Style is all about being comfortable.
One should feel comfortable in whatever
they are wearing and should carry it off
confidently. The style should be seen in
the way one speaks and acts.
Have you streaked
your hair?
I used to, but now as I am playing a good
boy, have to look like one. So now I haven't
streaked my hair.
How much time
do you take to garb up?
Around 10 to 15 minutes.
What according
to you, suits you better- Indian or Western?
People say I look good in Indian, in something
like sherwanis. And I too enjoy wearing
Indian. I love wearing them on special occasions,
like I did this time in Diwali.
How do you like
yourself, with or without a beard?
I keep a stubble to look young!
Chappals or shoes
I love chappals. I feel too restricted in
shoes.
Glares or lenses
I prefer glares.
Finger rings or
bracelets
Bracelets! I have loads of them and even
watches. I am not too much into finger rings.
Formals or in
formals
I wear formals only on occasions. I am mostly
dressed in informals as I am more of a casual
person. I love wearing T shirts and jeans.
Where do you pick
up your clothes from?
I don't really shop from India, but lately
I started shopping from Boy London and a
few times from the Inorbit mall in Mumbai.
Which is your
shoe stop?
Oh, it has to be Marco Ricci.
You are obsessed
about?
I am obsessed with watches.
What comes to
your mind when you hear - Indian Fashion?
Indian Fashion definitely brings to mind
kurtas, sarees etc. I guess Indian fashion
is definitely growing. And in no time, it
will be picked up soon by the whole of the
west.
The most fashionable
guy or gal in the Television Industry?
Aamna Shariff is undoubtedly
the best dressed woman in the industry,
but when it comes to men, I don't think
there are any, they don't really know how
to dress. But I think Shabbir Ahluwalia
carries himself really well!
The worst dressed
person in the industry?
Oh it has to be Yash Tonk, I don't understand
what he wears.
Your favourite
designer?
Rohit Bal, his designs are really
good.
Any accessory
which is close to your heart?
My Rolex.
How important
it is to move with the flowing trends?
No, I never follow trends, I make my own
trends.
What according
to you sets you apart from others?
My honesty!
