The
viewers of Star One are in for a treat.
Come 1 May, they are set to watch a quiz
show of a different kind! Heartbeat,
produced by Sidhartha Basu's Synergy Communications
will air Monday - Thursday at 9:30 pm.
There
were speculations in the media that the
desi version would be called Heart Attack,
but it seems that the makers have decided
to stick to the original title. The introduction
of the new show will see a fair amount of
changes in the current lineup of the channel.
Starting 1 May, Yeh Dil Chahe More
will be telecast at 8:30 pm, followed by
India Calling at 9:00 with Heartbeat
coming in at 9:30 pm. From 17 April,
this new schedule will be in place; only
at 9:30 pm, the channel will showcase the
best of Nach Baliye for two weeks,
till Heartbeat takes over.

India Calling: change in time

The Star One quiz show will have to compete
with Zee's Saat Phere, Star Plus'
Kavyanjali and Sony's new show, Thodi
Khushi Thode Ghum
Heartbeat is a one of it's kind
show - this is the first time in the country
that the outcome of a quiz show will be
decided on the pulse rate of the contestants
and also there will be no quizmaster to
monitor the proceedings, instead there will
be a voice that will throw the questions
at the contestants. The contestant is going
to be confined in a box while he answers
the questions thrown at him. They will have
all access to the Internet, mobile phones
and land lines and the trick is in answering
the posers as calmly as possible, as the
points will be given on the basis of the
most stable pulse rate.
Star India had bought this quiz format
from Endemol last year.
