Kasamh
Se inspired by Kalyug!!!!
|
|
Using Bollywood numbers in television
shows is increasingly becoming a popular
medium of promoting the song as well
as an easy method of creating drama,
easing tension or portraying a mood
of celebration in shows.
Thursday's episode of Zee's Kasamh
Se used Kalyug's popular
number, Judaa Hoke bhi to highlight
the mood of Jay Walia who was trying
to cope with the loss of his love!
But surprisingly, the similarities
don't end there! The song also has
been picturised in a similar fashion.
Dark brooding background and an overpowering
landscape that was prominent in the
original version has inspired the
Balaji show as well. "Yes, the
song went well with the mood of the
character so we used it! I was inspired
by the picturisation as well,"
says creative director Sandip Sikcand.
Balaji serials have always had a
filmy tune that's relevant to their
shows. Kahiin to Hoga has Thoda
Sa Pyar Hua Hai and even Kasamh
Se has the song from Aksar,
Soniye... and meri duniya
hai...running through the show.
Ekta had also incorporated some of
the songs from Tusshar Kapoor's flicks
in her shows, Kyunki...and
Kahaani...
With songs being an integral part
of Bollywood, it seems that television
too is looking to create some tunes
of its own. The foundation has already
been laid by the Rajashris' who are
using original tracks in their recently
launched show, Pyaar Ke Do Naam....

Where's
Sooraj Thapar???
|
|
Sooraj Thapar who is still remembered
because of Manish Goswami's Daraar
is missing in action for quite some
time. He was last seen in Jassi
Jaisi koi nahi, in a role which
was an exact replica of the character
previously played by Rajesh Khera
(Maddy) on the same show.
The actor is currently doing a play
with Poonam Dhillon called, The
Perfect Husband and is getting
good feedback for his performance.
Our sources tell us that the actor
has a keen interest in astrology and
tarot card reading. Someone whom he
consults regularly told him that his
time is not right at the moment and
that's why the actor is reportedly
taking things easy!
But we wonder why Manish Goswami
didn't consider Sooraj for any prominent
role in Sarrkkar or any new
project? Perhaps, he too is waiting
for a great character to offer the
actor, we presume!
Till then, Sooraj, watch the stars
closely!

The tenor
continues…!

Leslie Lewis and Hariharan turned
10 on Monday. Well, not quite literally.
But it happened to be their tenth
anniversary as a musical duo. The
celebrations went well with the theme
of Ek Main Aur Ek Tu that the
two are judging currently for Zee.
The entire unit celebrated the occasion
with champagne and cake. In fact,
to add to the mood, it also turned
out to be Hariharan's 51st birthday
and Sharib, one of the contestants,
sang a song for the duo while the
surprise element was Alka Yagnik,
who was the guest for the evening.
Also also sang with the Colonial
Cousins, we hear. Quite a tuneful
celebration, we must say!

Manoj's
reason to party!
|
|
The Velocity discotheque was the
place to be last Friday for all page3
perennials in Mumbai! The reason this
time was Puma's new sports collection
launch. The night witnessed various
socialites and bigwigs of film industry
like Rashmi Uday Singh, Tara Sharma,
Mukul Deora, Kishen Mulchandani, and
Shehnaz Treasurewala. Among these,
was dotted Manoj Bohra with girlfriend
Teejay Sidhu. Teejay was one of the
early birds to be tracked at the party
with some friends, and later Manoj
walked in, making it a point to stick
around with his girl. They even made
a quiet move to the VIP lounge to
have a few close moments together!
