Women's
safety is a major topic of concern! In today's
ultra modern age where women's liberation
is the talk of the town, we see contrary
headlines literally everyday. Bipasha Basu
made headlines with rumours saying that
she was molested by the organizers of the
event for which she was in New Jersey, U.S.A.
Though the reports which said that she was
molested came forth to be false, the actual
reason for the hoo-ha was the actor being
disrespected by them.

quizzes our telly stars who are
regular frequents for these stage shows
and asks them whether they find it safe
enough and have they ever faced a problem
of this sort?

When I am offered a stage show out of town,
my first step is to check which artists
are coming along. It's better to travel
with known people to be on the safer side.
These tragedies happen with woman and not
with public figures; people think that we
are the weaker sex and are easy targets.
The mindsets need to undergo a major change.
Another thing would be the image they relate
a woman too. The sexy image of an actor
is often viewed as that in the real life
too!

No profession is safe! When you go for
an interview, if a man is interviewing a
woman he first looks at her physical appearance
and then vital statistics. In India, getting
out of the house is not safe for a woman.
So I blame it on her luck. Coming to the
fact that we are the public figures, many
fantasize about us. And when they see us
in front of us, they disconnect with the
reality. Still women are not getting their
due respect.

Women are quite safe! Talking about the
stage shows, I think one must know whom
you are going with and must be very careful.
Eve teasing and molestation happen on an
everyday basis, only because we are public
figures you get to know about this. Women
are being respected; I don't agree that
they are being ill-treated. Yes of course
there are a couple of morons here and there,
but they have to be ignored.

Women are unsafe everywhere, why talk about
only stage shows? When you are in an area
which is not yours you need to be even the
more cautious, and have security right by
your side. It's not about being a public
figure but it's about being a woman. They
are as safe and unsafe as the other women
are.

I was abroad hosting a show, but nothing
happened with me. It is all about luck.
And such incidents happen everyday, so this
case in particular is nothing new. It is
hyped only because we are public figures.
This happens with a woman, certainly a man's
ego is satisfied when he touches a public
figure and he is on a high. It is nothing
new, happens with every woman whether in
trains, buses or stage shows.
