The
plucky producer, Dheeraj Kumar, who was
the man behind the recent topnotch shows
like, Jodee Kamaal Ki (Star Plus)
and Man Mein Hain Vishwaas (Sony),
is gearing up with a latest offering - Ghar
Ki Laxmi Betiyaan, which is slated for
Zee TV.
This daily promises to infuse a lineup
of new stars in the industry. The channel
is already flashing the promos of this social
saga, which is most likely to be telecast
in the 8.30 band on Zee TV.
The crux of the story is the age old Indian
concept of the girl child being considered
a bojh (liability) by the orthodox mentality.
It revolves around the lives of four sisters
who grow up with the sordid reality of their
parents' craving for a boy child. But, interestingly
the soap will also move on to explore how
they build their own empires and carve a
niche for themselves in the male dominated
world.
Speaking exclusively to Tellychakkar.com,
veteran actor-turned-producer Dheeraj Kumar
says, "People are saturated with the
saas bahu tales. I strongly believe
that soaps have to portray the social reality
in the real sense of the term. It gives
hope to people by helping them deal with
day-to-day situations in life."
He adds, ""Everyday one hears
and reads about the heinous crime of the
female foetuses being killed in the womb.
Indian families still consider a girl child
to be a burden and keep craving for a son.
Ghar Ki…will revolve around one such
family, which is bestowed with everything,
but laments the fact that they have to bear
the burden of four daughters."
So, will Ghar Ki ... ride on the
fervour created by Saat Phere and
Kasamh Se? Lets wait and watch !
