After
tasting success with shows like Nach
Baliye and The Great Indian Laughter
Challenge, Star One is now ready roll
out Antakshari -The Great Challenge
to sustain audience's interest in the channel.
This innovative and exciting
format, which captures the passion the Indian
audiences have for music, is being produced
by Gajendrra Siingh. This time around, the
challenge for the channel as well as the
producer will be to bring home the show
in a new avatar from its earlier version
that was a roaring hit.
Interestingly, Singh whose
name is almost synonymous with Zee's Sansui
Antakshari and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,
promises an exciting mix of programming
style while retaining its trademark flavour.
Annu Kapur, the man synonymous with Antakshari,
will host this musical extravaganza.
Elaborating on his new innings
with Star, Gajendrra says "I am not
concerned whether the channel caters to
a niche or general audience. My only interest
is to draw a whole range of audience's from
8 to 80 years old to watch the show. This
is a new beginning for me since I have been
associated with Zee for a long time now.
Though, I have a great regard for Zee as
they gave me the initial platform that I
needed"
The show will go on air from the first
week of February and the female host has
not been finalized at the moment. Says Annu
Kapur the host of the show, "We will
try to retain the old format with some new
add-on's. And I am pretty confident that
the show will be a great success since the
language of music appeals to one and all."
Ajay Vidyasagar, Executive Vice President
Marketing & Communication Star India,
considers the new show as Star One's gift
to its audience. About Star One's success
the Star honcho remarks, "With Antakshari,
our aim is to gain a new audience base in
the crowded marketplace of programming.
The new show will offer a musical layer
beneath which would run an interactive ring
that would form a bond with the audience
and the participants."
Gajendrra Siingh and Annu Kapur's coming
together does create a lot of interest around
the show since they have jointly scripted
success stories in the past too. With the
Jodi No 1 of the antakshari-world back again,
we should expect a nothing less than sheer
entertainment.
