documentary film maker too. And now, the
lady is producing and directing a telefilm
called Agantuk, commissioned by the
central government and is scheduled to be
a bilingual (Hindi and Gujarati) mini-series.
The film has Bakul Thakkar as the central
character, besides Diana Rawal (product
of the National School of Drama, Sanat Vyas
who was last seen in a major role in Ek
Mahal Ho Sapno Ka and Prathamesh Mehta,
Shilpa Thakkar, Bharat Thakkar and Dipali
Rawal (all Gujarati theatre actors).
"The film is based on a Sahitya Akademi
award winning novel by Dhiruben Patel. It's
a story of a man( Ishaan) who is a Sanyasi,
who, because of the politics in the ashram,
decides to leave it and come back to his
brothers in Mumbai. Once there, he realises
that nobody is ready to do anything for
anyone, unless the person gets something
in return," says Suhasini, who's having
a blast currently playing a four times married
woman (called Kosha) in Kyunki Saas Bhi
Kabhi Bahu Thi. Kosha, she says, is
just a 120 episode role. Also, Suhasini
will be seen in a Harry Baweja film called
Production Number nine where
she plays the prime minister, as also Tony
and Deeya Singh's new show Jab Love Ho
Gaya.
The shooting for Suhasini's own DD project
is over (they shot in Mumbai and Bharuch)
and the series will air on Doordarshan in
April this year. Agantuk will be
aired for one hour (six episodes in all)
and will be aired over a period of one and
a half month on Doordarshan.
Says an excited Bakul, who was last seen
as Lalit chachu in Kkusum, "I
play the central character in the film and
the film depicts my relations with my brothers
and the world." He is also doing a
play titled Mera Naam Joker which
will be staged in March. He is also doing
an untitled film for Neeraj Bohra.
