One is geared up to launch its latest venture,
NG Takes (Not good takes) by the
end of January.

NG Takes will give the viewers an
exclusive look at shots and sequences from
well known movies that have not made the
final cut.
Imagine Amitabh Bachchan giving an NG take
and Sanjeev Kumar goofing up in a scene!
Well, if not anything else, it will make
interesting viewing.
The show, created by Deepti Bhatnagar Productions
will be on air every Saturday at 7:30 pm
from 28 January. The show will be hosted
by veteran anchor with a comic flair, Suresh
Menon. The actor seemed very excited about
his new assignment. "It's a fantastic
concept and I think this is one of the best
shows that I have done so far. It's been
shot very differently and has a very distinct
look," says Suresh, who will add his
trademark humour to the show.

"There are many things that go into
making a film...takes, retakes and other
behind the scenes things. NG Takes will
talk about all that and it will not only
deal with 'not good' shots, but will also
look at footage which has not been used
because of changes in screenplay,"
says Sahara One COO Purnendu Bose. The channel
has aquired the footage by approaching producers
and directors of the films and buying the
rushes from them. "See, it wasn't difficult
to convince them as this footage is of no
use to the producer or the director. On
the contrary, by selling them, the producer
only stands to earn additional revenue,"
points out Bose.
The show kicks off with footage from Sholay,
and there's a long list of movies including
Parineeta, Vaah...Life Ho to Aisi
and others, whose unused footage will be
displayed to the world for the first time.
The show, which has taken six months of
intense planning, is scheduled for an initial
run of six months.
NG Takes sounds like a show that's
exploring uncharted territory on Indian
television...here's hoping it delivers!
