After
a long year's wait, Achana Puran Singh is
content with the response her film The
Gold Bracelet, released recently, is
generating.
"Staying
away from my children for 45 days
was really tough"
|
The movie will be screened at the Academy
of Television Arts and Sciences' Leonard
H. Goldstein Theater in North Hollywood,
California on the 28 February. Archana acted
in the film during a 45 day long shoot in
Los Angeles last year.
The film is a moving journey of man who
strives to live a simple yet meaningful
life. The feature film, directed by well-known
Indian-American actor Kavi Raz focuses on
Sikh and Arab victims of 9/11 and the way
life changed for them after the incident
Raz, an expert who often appears on television,
in films and on the stage, also wrote, produced
and acted in The Gold Bracelet.
"It's been a year back I shot for the
movie and I had a bad time, as I had to
stay away from my children and family for
45 days while shooting in LA. It was a lot
of sacrifice for me and now I am contented
that my sacrifice hasn't been a waste. In
fact, even Mehrunnisa who plays my daughter
in the film suffered a family tragedy and
had a bad time away from her home,"
reveals the actor.
The
wait is worth it!! isin't it?

On how she got the role, the actor says,
"This was the first time I was asked
to read my role. For the past many years,
no director had ever asked me to give an
audition or even read a role. But, for this,
Kavi Raz called me and asked me to read
the role for him. My friends and family
disouraged me and told me not to take up
the role but I took it as a challenge and
wanted to see what needed a read from me."
Archana's new show, Kandy Floss, which
she will host and which was to be aired
on Sony in the month of January will now
come on air only in February this year.
