Taurus Video is ready with a new show for Star Plus christened Ek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein for Star Plus.

Varun Badola and Sanjay Mishra play the main leads in this Tigmanshu Dhulia directed show, besides a host of National School of Drama alumni like Kenny Desai, Achyut Potdar, Sulbha Deshpande, Simple Kaul and two new female characters played by Parineeta and Suhasi Goradia in it.

The show is on the lines of the ultra-popular show 80's show Nukkad and will have many lovable characters living together in harmony in a township (called Colonelgunj).

The tales of its protagonists emanate from their needs, sorrow, joy, dreams and aspirations.

"It is a light hearted comedy and the stories will move from character to character. The show will transport the viewers to that Moholla to the extent that people would want to be a part of it. We have about 30 odd talented actors in it and we will have many cameos also.The show will have all kinds of emotions in it and we don't want to make the colony look like Mumbai, rather it'll be like any small town," says Anupam Kalidhar, producer,Taurus Video which has earlier produced Saans,Siski,Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar,Palchin and Son Pari in the past for Star Plus.

" The show is about a middle class colony where every one is ready to help each other. Its a slice of life,its got many different stories in it. It goes like the solution to your problem lies with your neighbour. We have talented actors from NSD and some new faces who have been zeroed in on the basis of their looks and talent,"points out Tigmanshu Dhulia, who gets along famously with Varun Badola (who has assisted him on his earlier projects )but now Varun has no time as he is busy with his projects and has become a star insists Tigmanshu.

"It was great shooting with Tigmanshu and Varun as all three of us have Allahabad connections. I am from Allahabad besides both have studied and lived there for quite some time," says Anupam, whose Son Pari also won the best Childrens show this year at the Apsara awards and completed five years on air recently.

Tigmanshu will be directing the initial episodes and will also produce the show with Taurus. Besides, he will also take a call on the major developments in the story,Shubhankar Banerji(Tigmanshu's assistant director) will direct the show in Tigmanshu's absence(who is also directing a film).

Confirming the show, Star Plus creative head Shailja Kejriwal said, "The show would be launched, but later, and not around the time Jodi Kamaal Ki launches."
Ek Chabhi Padoss Mein is expected to hit the tube in March and be a daily with a primetime slot and could be slotted as one of the replacements for the prematurely ended Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Here's one show which will be a pleasant change from all the emotional saas-bahu sagas and the endless reality shows on air.
