Karan
informs Rani that the person living at her
place is not the real Raj but a rich
NRI businessman Prince J.Thapar who is Raj's
lookalike. Just then, she gets a call from
the police station saying that Raj's body
has been found and she rushes to see it.
As she returns, she asks Prince to get out
of her house and sets out to tell everyone
in the family about the body. Her mother-in-law
intervenew to tell her of her father-in
-law's slow but steady progress from the
paralytic attack. She decides not to tell
anyone and keep the secret to herself.
Surekha (Rani's Mother-in-law) keeps "Akhand
Ramayana" Paath Puja at home. Prince
and Rani are supposed to sit for this puja
together. As the preparation of the puja
progresses, Pandiji starts arranging the
wood for hawan, but Rani, without telling
anyone, goes to the cremation ground for
Raj's funeral. Karan is already there.
Rani alone performs all the rituals and
as the hawan starts at home, Raj's body
in the Shamshan Ghat also starts burning....
Rani actually manages to perform the rituals,
without letting anybody know about it. She
tells everybody that she had kept a 'mannat'
for Raj's wellbeing, so she wants everybody
to bless a covered basket which actually
carries Raj's ashes. That's how she completes
the ritual and keeps the entire pain to
herself....
It's all about the irony of life.... and
Rani's ill fate which she herself witnesses....
