Sujata's
a bauble buff!
|
|
Jewelry could well be Sujata Mehta's
middle name. It's almost her signature
tune, that she plays at any event
she graces! The lady, best remembered
for her performance in Doordarshan's
Shrikant two decades ago, flaunts
a wide variety of baubles at every
do, and with style. At the recent
launch party of Balaji Telefilms'
Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, where
she plays the mother's character,
Sujata was turned out in a becoming
white ensemble, embellished with loads
of silver jewelry, rings being her
speciality.
"I love to wear jewelry. I get
it done from Saurashtra and have been
doing so for many years now. I have
these certain bangles which I have
got made in different colours to match
my clothes. In fact, when I go abroad,
the first thing I do is get myself
some exotic jewelry pieces,"
says the stylish Sujata, who is genuinely
fond of dressing up and looking good.
To think that the lady plays a fashion
designer in Nimmo who wants
to be a Page 3 socialite, we'd say
she's landed herself the right job!

Remembering
Kuljeet
|
|
Kuljeet Randhawa's presence it would
appear, continues to permeate the
small screen more than a month after
her alleged suicide,...and as was
the case before her untimely death,
she's a pleasure to watch on screen.
The lady must have completed a few
modeling assignments after Sahara
One's Kohinoor wound up last
year, but these are seeing the light
of day only now. Just saw the Kohinoor
and Special Squad star in an
advertisement for power switches,
released recently on the tube. The
lady looked relaxed and completely
at ease as she sat on a sofa surrounded
by her 'family'! In something that's
an irony of sorts, the lady signs
off in the ad saying, "Finally
I have my peace of mind!"

Kasautii
problems Kay!
|
|
Everyone knows what Shweta Tiwari
thinks of Cezanne Khan and vice versa.
A little birdie from the sets of Kasautii
Zindagi Kay tells us that Cezanne
Khan has thrown been tantrums that
he will give only fifteen days to
Balaji for the show. He is said to
have taken this step as the focus
has shifted to the younger generation
and Manoj Bohra in particular. Apparently
he might be looking for other assignments
soon.
While Shweta Tiwari has conveyed to
the production house that she is planning
a vacation in America in the month
of June.
Now if this is true, how do they build
a bank of episodes when Cezanne is
not willing to give more time or dates
to the show, which also seems to be
his only claim to fame.. Considering
both the actors are stubborn about
their decisions we will have to wait
and watch if Ekta Kapoor comes up
with a solution considering Kasautii...
continues to be one of her favourite
projects which seems to be enjoying
decent TRP ratings too.

If Aamir
Ali had been Abhay Kapoor....
|
|
Aamir Ali's only claim to TV fame
has been Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.
But there was a time once when he
was Nausheen Alii Sardar's boyfriend,
a time when both were into modelling.
When Nausheen bagged the title role
in Kkusum, she wanted him to play
Abhay Kapoor. But then, we have it
on authority that Ekta was clear about
having Anuj Saxena for the role of
Abhay. That spelt the end of Nausheen's
dreams of having Aamir as her on screen
hero.
After Kkusum became a huge hit, Nausheen
and Aamir broke off and Vikas Kalantri
came into the picture, when Nausheen
shot with him and Anuj Saxena for
a music video, and she played Vikas's
Bhabhi. The reason why Nausheen and
Aamir Ali broke off is not known.
If Aamir Ali was selected to play
Abhay Kapoor then he would have been
in a different league in the television
industry. Everyone knows that one
role of Abhay Kapoor has taken Anuj
Saxena places. Not many however know
that Kkusum is one show where most
stars today worked once upon a time.
The list includes Hiten Tejwani, Tassnim
Sheikh, Moonmoon, Manish Goel, Narayani
Shastri, Aashish Kaul, Shweta Kawaatra,
Manav Gohil...phew! Aamir's really
missed the chance of being part of
the Kkusum brigade!

Aamne Saamne
|
|
It could have been an event straight
out of a scriptwriter's notes, except
it happened. Really.
Sunday saw St Andrews Auditorium in
Bandra hosting an event by Peek A
Boo, a concert titled Dance of the
World, presented by deaf and mute
children. Interestingly, the guest
list, unknown to the guests themselves,
included Anuj Saxena as well as Manish
and Poonam Goel. The hosts may not
have realised their irony of the invites,
as Anuj and Manish have been unable
to see eye to eye for over one year
now.
Interestingly, Anuj's invite originated
from his business interests (the actor's
family holds majority interest in
Elder Pharma), while Manish and Poonam
came along with their son Aryaveer
as celeb guests.
Both occupied extreme ends of the
same row and obviously enjoyed the
entire show, but kept discreetly away
from each other. The one time friends
seemed in no hurry to patch up their
differences. Did they even know they
would be bumping into each other this
way?
You couldn't have told, judging by
their countenances. But then, haven't
they all been in showbiz long enough
to mask what they really feel.
