Rosesh
is perhaps destined to stay a bachelor.
The man couldn't manage to bag a biwi,
despite having 1000 maidens to choose from!

The matrimonial ad on indya.com
|
The hunt for a bride for Rosesh started
earlier this year when indya.com carried
a mock matrimonial ad for the Sarabhai off
spring. In what might be called a huge response,
over 1000 women (some of them even married)
lined up at the studio to ask for the hand
of the man in question and at the same time
bag a role in the show. Huge amount of money,
time and creativity was invested in this
venture, as the Hats Off team looked to
choose a girl who would not only have a
good face and personality, but be an actress
as well! But now after almost three months
the team has given up on the idea and will
soon be taking a two month season break.
"It was really difficult. They just
could not act. We tried very hard. I asked
them to look in one direction and they would
look in another...the problem is that I
cannot give them too much time, I have to
finish shooting in a certain period of time
and I had given the four shortlisted girls
three days...but it just didn't happen.
We were looking to find a girl with a spark...but
unfortunately it didn't happen," rues
creative director, Deven Bhojani.
Producer, JD Majethia agrees with Bhojani
that the idea was a great one, but it was
not meant to be. "No one suited the
picture we had in mind! They could not act...and
somehow, I didn't like even one of them.
But if it had worked we would have got a
natural talent," says JD.

Writer-producer, Aatish Kapadia too seemed
let down by their inability to find a suitable
match for Rosesh. "We decided not to
include any of the girls in the show. We
believe that it's better to not have a bride
for him, than to have someone who's not
suitable," points out Kapadia.
When contacted Star India senior vice president
Deepak Sehgal said, "It was the call
of the makers and I really don't know much
about it."
Perhaps the most depressed is the 'oh!
so close, yet so far' groom, Rosesh, who
would have to continue as a bachelor in
the second season as well. "I am not
worried! But it was good to know that the
character is so loved. I was amazed at the
response," laughs Rajesh Kumar, who
plays Rosesh.
But surely as far as Rosesh is concerned,
biwi nahin toh kya, momma to toh hai!
