Off production is all set to produce a play
based on writer cum producer Aatish Kapadia's
novel, Resham Dankh.

Aatish Kapadia: a master craftsman
|
The show will be a social thriller that
will be on air on either of the Star channels
(sources indicate that it could be Star
One). The novel was co written by Kapadia
two years ago and will soon see a version
on the telly.
"It's a very different kind of a story
and it's interesting. We haven't done a
show like this before so it will be a nice
change. It has a finite end and will not
go on for ever," says Kapadia, refusing
to divulge any details.
"It's not a run of the mill thriller.
It happens within a family...and that's
the beauty of the show. At the end people
will be shocked," says JD.
This is not the first time that Kapadia's
works have been adapted by the visual medium.
The story of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer,
Aankhen is adapted from Kapadia's
Gujarati play, Andhla Pato (the Gujarati
equivalent of Blindman's Bluff), first staged
in 1992. Waqt is also based on the
stupendously successful Gujarati play, Vhala
Fari Malishu Aavjo, penned by Kapadia.
