Where
is the year old Miilee headed? While
the producers insist that the show has been
granted a year long extension, the channel
insists on waiting till March to take a
decision on Miilee's fate.

Meanwhile, the lead of the show, Mona Wasu,
seems adamant about quitting the show and
moving to films by the end of May.
"Yes, we have got an extension for
a year and I am very happy about it. The
story is now concentrating on the college
track and now Miilee has become a
youth icon of sorts," says co-producer
Raman Kumar, who points out that Rahul's
character played by Ajay Gehi will be back
on the show in April.
While Kumar is confident of an extended
run, Star India's creative head Shailja
Kejriwal has a different story to tell.
"The fact is that there have been no
discussions on the issue. We will take a
good look at the show till March and then
take a decision," points out Kejriwal,
adding that Mona Wasu's contract expires
only in April, and thus there's no question
of her talking about quitting the show.
"I have a contract till 6 April, but
I have agreed to work till May end. After
that, I am quitting the show. I don't know
what they will do, now that the show has
got an extension. Maybe they will look for
a replacement or work on a different track
altogether," says Mona, pointing out
that she had let both the channel and the
production house know of her decision to
quit in December 2005.
Mona
Wasu and Ajay Gehi in happier times

'I had given myself time to work in television...now
that time's up and now it's best for my
career that I move to something else. I
want to do films, as well as devote time
to myself," sighs Mona, who seems to
have made up her mind on the issue.
Another thread that seems to be still hanging
loose is the Rahul, aka Ajay Gehi issue.
Is he in or out? No one seems to be in the
know.
Are
there happier times in store for Miilee?

While Raman Kumar points out that Ajay
will return in April, the actor has no idea
of his comeback. "They haven't asked
me for any dates and I have no clue about
what's happening. Anyway, If they call me,
I will decide only after I have had a meeting
with both the channel and the production
house. I will decide on a comeback only
if Rahul's character comes back in a big
way," opines Ajay.
Asked if he has got a raw deal as far as
Miilee was concerned, Ajay is forthright
in his opinion. "Definitely. In the
beginning, Miilee was supposed to
be a love story, with Rahul's character
getting as much importance as Miillee's,
but I don't know what happened! The character
didn't shape up as it was supposed to. I
don't know who to blame!" sighs the
actor, who seems to have no clue about the
fate of the show that launched him on TV.
Knotty affair, this!
