Raja
Mukherjee has been been seen on the television
circuit for a while after the demise of his
production Prratima on SaharaOne. The
producer director brother of film star Rani
Mukherjee, is now ready with a new primetime
show for Doordarshan titled
Raja
Mukherjee - directing two television
shows and a Bengali film
|
Kehkashan.
The show will be a love story on the lines
of the Yashraj film Veer-Zaara and
will star Dimple Inamdar, Avir Goswami (Lakshya,
Prratima),Arup Pal, Aleesha Hinduja
and Krishnakanth (Ada).
"It is a love story and talks about
unity between the Hindus and the Muslims,
their love for each other and not the hatred
between them. It talks about sacrifice and
has no saas bahu antics," smiles Raja,
for whom the show's content seems more important
than the actors!
"I play a Muslim girl, Kehkashan,
who is searching for her father. My look

like Rani Mukherjee's in Veer-Zaara,
complete with the conservative background,"
says Dimple, who is excited about her new
avatar in the show and has already shot
eight episodes.Kehkashan is slated
for a launch in April. Dimple has worked
with Raja Mukherjee previously in Prratima
and currently has her hands full with Sony's
Ek Ladki Anjani Si and Kumkum
Ek Pyarasa Bandhan.
Raja, incidentally, is doing another show
for Doordarshan titled Kisi Ki Nazar
Na Lage, for which he is yet to cast
the actors, but the storyline is about three
generations and the sacrifices by the bahus
of the house. He is scheduled to go to Kolkata
shortly for the shooting of his new Bengali
film.
