Star
Plus pulls out yet another unique show.
Kavita Barjatya, the brain behind SaharaOne's
Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki comes up
with Pyaar Ke do Naam, Ek Radha Ek Shyam
for Star, that launched in a very traditional
way at the ISKCON precincts in Mumbai on
Thursday. The show launches on 3 April at
8 pm, replacing Mum, Tum Aur Hum.

Indranil
and Barkha doing the puja

To add to the ethnic look of the show,
a puja was also held in the same mandir
the same morning. Star India creative head
Shailja Kejriwal, Kavita Barjatya, lead
actors Barkha Bhist and Indranil Sengupta
were present to give the show the auspicious
start.
The showreel at the press meet later showcased
amazing locations, a blend of two lives
and last, but not the least, innumerable
songs. "Music is the signature of Rajshris"
offers Kavita by way of explanation.
"The storyline of Pyaar Ke...revolves
around reincarnation of two lives that is
Barkha and Indranil, and their incomplete
love story. It is not based on any book,
and has a finite storyline. They will meet
at the end of the show," Kavita is
quick to add.

and barkha

"It's not spinning around Subhash
Ghai's Karz too, there's no revenge
here! No villains and vamps, I guess we
have enough of them ruling celluloid,"
says Shailja.
The spotlight was on the larger than life
name. Kaushik Ghatak, the director of the
show says, "Well, the entire look and
story of the series can be understood from
the title."
Adds Shailja, referring to the long drawn
title,"Star is known for setting trends
and not following them."
The producer-channel symbiosis is obviously
at its best here. On being asked, about
woking with the Barjatyas, Shailja adds,
"Oh! They are pure souls. They are
extremely honest and the really good to
work with." And Kavita too chips in,
"They are thorough professionals, I
am very happy to strike a deal with Star!"
The pretty and reticent Barkha, who's a
little excited and a trifle nervous, says,
"I and Indraneil share a great chemistry
on and off screen both, it's very good to
work with him."

Tabassum, the famous chirpy anchor and
veteran actor, too will be seen on the show,
playing Indranil's dadima. And along with
Tabassum, veteran actor Ramesh Deo too will
be seen on the show playing Thakur Dada.
Another attractive part of this show are
the locations where the shootings have been
conducted. "We are shooting at Wai,
Mahableshwar and Panchgani, so that we get
a very ethnic look," says Kaushik Ghatak.
After the success of Woh Rehne Wali
Mehlon Ki, Kavita seems set to ride
another success. Will Radha go the Rani
way?
