As
the wedding season kicks off, the first
couple from the telly fraternity to be exchanging
vows will be Arjun
Punj and Gurdip
Kohli. With just a fortnight
from the D day, that's 10th December, this
lovey-dovey couple is currently engrossed
in the plushy preparations for the gala
wedding.
This beauteous actor of Sindoor fame
and Saathi Re dude take out some
time from their busy schedule and discuss
their marriage plans with Anil
Merani. Exceprts.
"It
will be a typical Punjabi / Sikh wedding"
|
So all set for
the D day! What are your plans for the occasion?
Gurdip:It will be a typical Punjabi
/ Sikh wedding with all the lavish build
up occasions - mehendi, sangeet
and the works for which we Punjabis
are famous or rather infamous for! The main
wedding ceremony will be held in the capital,
but we also plan to throw a lavish reception
here in Mumbai as well.
Arjun, do you
plan to throw a bachelors bash?
I don't think Gurdip will like it, as she
knows how wild these things can get. Post
marriage, I might throw a party, but then
Gurdip will definitely be a part of the
hungama!
Any pre wedding
jitters?
Arjun: Though I have heard a lot
about it from my married friends, luckily,
I have not yet experienced it. But there
are still 15 more days to go. So you never
know!
How would you both
define marriage?
A combination of love, commitment, understanding
and compatibility.
Tell us about your
exquisite bridal dress.
Gurdip: I can't disclose anything
about my outfit. That would spoil all the
fun won't it? All I can say is that it's
come out really beautiful. Just wait and
watch.
And where are
you heading for you honeymoon?
Gurdip: As of now, we have decided
on a sojourn to the beautiful beaches of
Maldives and later when we have the time
(around March), Arjun has promised me a
whirl wind romantic tour of Europe. In fact,
I accpeted his proposal on the very premise
that he will take me to Switzerland!
"We
are eagerly waiting for D day"
|
Thought of any
gifts for each other?
Gurdip: What better gift we can give
each other, apart from our undying love
and commitment, which the wedding vows entail.
On a more superficial level, we have shopped
a lot for each other.
How well do you
know each other?
Arjun: We have been going around
for the past three and a half years, and
within the last six months of our courtship,
we knew that we were made for each other.
Does the general
belief that 'we see the true colours post
marriage' bother you'll?
Gurdip: We know that, but I guess
three and a half years is enough time to
understand each other. We strongly believe
that if two people click, then they can
weather any storm. In fact if you don't
sync, even years of marriage can come undone.
Any one thing
you would want to change in your partner?
Arjun: Why should I change, I am
already perfect.
Gurdip: I would be really happy if
he could stop wasting food.
Gurdip, can Arjun
cook?
Like all guys, he can prepare omelette.
Nothing more, but to be fair to him, he
does make it well.
Did participating
in Nach Baliye 2 help in cementing
your relationship?
Arjun: Yes it really helped us to
come closer than ever before. We learnt
to cope with stress and pressure together.
We are happy that we are currently ousted
from the show as it gives us ample time
to prepare for our wedding. We have virtually
finished all the shopping and are now eagerly
waiting for D day.
