Following
the footsteps of Iqbal Khan is none other
than singer turned actor Amit Tandon. Yes,
he too plans to ditch the bachelors brigade
and believe it or not, may bid farewell
to Balaji!!!
Amit (who plays Manthan in Kyunki...)
has plans of drifting away from the television
industry and go back to his first love,
music for which he has been gearing up all
this while.
"I will be leaving for New York on
the 22 December and my marriage is slated
for the 6 January. The recording for my
album will commence post January. So certainly
I won't be able to give enough time to the
show. I haven't had a word with Ekta as
yet. She is sure to be either supportive
of this or will ask me to get lost, and
I am prepared for both!" says the actor.
He is very confident about his upcoming
albums and asserts that this is the right
time for him to take them up.
He admits to the fact that television is
merely a platform for most of the actors
who wish to enter the film industry. "Everyone
is not a Shahrukh Khan, who can keep dabbling
from television to films, and back again
to television. I definitely want to try
my luck in films, but let's see where my
fate takes me," says Amit.
The actor's wedding preparations are in
full swing. "My financial balance is
in negative now! I have shopped to death,"
affirms the actor.
To woo his lady love, other than shopping
for AD Singh's designer attires and an aesthetic
diamond ring, Amit's style of proposing
Ruby (his fiance) was very very different.
"Two weeks ago, Ruby (his fiancee)
was on the sets of Kyunki.. while
I was shooting. I took all my co actors
in confidence, and decided to propose to
her for marriage in between one of my scene.
And so it finally happened! I recited my
dialogues and slowly moved towards her when
the cameras were rolling. I went on my knees
and proposed to her. She was blushing all
day long!"
Amit Tandon is looking foward for a big
fat Punjabi wedding! "We will have
all five functions, mata ki chowki, sangeet,
engagemant, marriage and reception. I am
all charged up for that!" affirms Amit.
Now all we wait for is a confrontation
between Ekta and Amit. Will sparks fly or
will it be an amicable seperation? Watch
this space for more!
