Diwali's
round the corner, there's fun and revelry
in the air. While the entire country is
alit with the orange glow of twinkling diyas
to welcome the goddess of wealth with Lakshmi
puja, the fireworks and sweets add on joy
and happiness to the festival.
So, how is our tellywood's producer brigade
gearing up for this beautiful festival.
Kavita Shyam spoke to some of the
TV producers about their Diwali plans.

We do office puja where the well wishers
drop in and we have a havan. After which
we go to our respective homes for our house
puja. My four year old son loves this ritual.
I burst a few crackers only as a shagun
for my son's sake (as otherwise it's a sheer
waste of money) and then we go to our family
friend's house for a get together. I go
to my grand father's house every year as
he gives me hundred rupees on Diwali and
now my son also loves to do the same.
I do have a card party for my close friends
which takes place before Diwali. This year
we'd be going to Shammi uncle's house for
his birthday and then hop from one friend's
house to another. it'd be hectic but I love
it. I love the festival, the diyas, candles
and people around me in all their finery.
Yash Patnaik-(Fireworks)
I've become a proud father and this Diwali
I plan to introduce my baby to the
festival. I generally play cards on the
Diwali night and plan to call my friends
( Sudhanshu Pandey, Anoop Soni, Aditya Singh)
home for a card party. For me such parties
are in no way a way to make money but its
all about having fun with close friends.
And somewhere I think the child in everybody
comes out while we play cards and we go
back in time. One day before Diwali we oriyas
show diyas to our forefathers which is our
way of showing our gratitude to our ancestors.
I am on my way to Goregaon to get some sweets
from a Maharashtrian shop which my mother-in-law
has suggested.
Radhika Kumar-
(Vinita Nanda Productions)
This Diwali I am going to my friend Vinita's
place to play cards. I think, for people
who want to be featured on the page 3 columns
it would be an opportunity to network with
people and come into the limelight. We are
not shooting this month and begin shooting
only next month so there's no issue of having
to give holidays to the actors.
Ravi Behl-
I'd be spending Diwali at a friend's place
and it's going to be a get together of
sorts with college and school friends.
I believe on Diwali one would be like to
be with near and dear ones sharing love
and happiness. I'd pray for success and
happiness and I know money will follow.
I am also thinking of giving myself a nice
Diwali holiday as I've been working very
hard and need a break.
Rupali Guha-(Filmfarms)
I'd pray hard for my next project to start
fast on time and since it's a day when we
Bengalis celebrate Kali Puja I'd
be visiting Rama Krishna Mission. There
might be a possibility of an impromptu party
at home where in friends might drop in for
the festival. My kids have become conscious
and plan to burst eco friendly crackers
if there are any in the market. I plan to
decorate my house with lights and flowers
keeping with the festive season. To each
their own but I am not much of a card party
person and would rather spend time with
my kids. I have never used such parties
as a place to network as I've done things
on my own steam. I would pray for peace
and not as much for money as that will follow
with hard work.
