Kiran
Dubey, the actress with a cool attitude
has come a long way. A few years ago the
role of Karishma Virani in Kyunki
made her a household name. Now, she has
bounced back as Rajeshwari Devi in Kahaani
ghar ghar ki.
Apart from the Balaji shows, viewers have
also seen Kiran in many more popular shows
like Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi and Devi. Apart
from this, she's also done a negative act
in Raman Kumar's Milli and Suno Har Dil
Kuuch Kehta hai for Sahara One.
In a chat with Tellychakkar.com Kiran sums
up her life mantra
What is Kiran
Dubey like?
I am a very loving person by
nature who has a different trip in life.
Ultimately I am seeking knowledge above
anything else. I am getting wiser by the
day and definitely evolving as an individual
everyday.
How did Balaji
happen?
I had gone casually to Balaji for a role,
not in Kyunki. Ekta spotted me and
felt she has found her Karishma Virani.
The character was outgoing and rebellious
like Zeenat Aman in Hare Krishna Hare
Ram. From 2002 to 2004, I did Kyunki.
Meanwhile, I also did Kkusum in which I
played Lalli Chachu's (Bakul Thakkar) love
interest. But Karishma Virani's character
gave me instant recognition.
How did you get
the role of Rajeshwari Devi in Kahaani
Ghar Ghar Ki?
Meetu from Balaji called me with the offer.
Initially, I was reluctant as I was busy
with another show.. But after they narrated
the character to me, I took it and managed
my dates and time efficiently. I am glad
I took up the role as Kahaani is a very
good show and my character Rajeshwari Devi
who's Anoop Soni's wife is a die hard romantic
in spite of being negative. What is interesting
is that she also has a sense of humour.
How is it working
with Sakshi Tanwar and Mita Vasishth?
I have known Sakshi for many years. She
was a part of my first show Sansaar and
I have worked with her in Devi. Saakshi
is a very genuine person and makes everyone
around feel comfortable. I met Mita only
on the sets of Kahaani and we have bonded
very well. She's very intelligent and has
a wonderful sense of humour. We eat together
and at times in between shots end up laughing.
Why are you missing
from Kahani at the moment?
I am on a short vacation in Dehradun my
hometown. Soon I will be back in the show.
There is track of revelations going on right
now. Once that gets over my track will re-appear
prominently.
How is your relationship
with Balaji?
So far so good. The relationship goes a
long way from Kyunki and Kkusum days.
Last time, I had bumped into Ekta into Mukteshwar
temple at Juhu. I share a good professional
rapport with her.
What are your
passions other than acting?
Watching Cinema, reading awesome book, travelling
and beautifying the waste (bottles, woods
etc.)
We've heard that
you've developed an interest in `beautifying
the waste?
I was into sketching and painting since
childhood. I used to make good greeting
cards.Whenever, I had time I started trying
beautifying bottles and the end result was
good. It's an outlet for creativity. I do
it for my select friends and myself.
Who are your friends
in the industry?
Aakashdeep Sehgal, Sandeep Baswana,
Ashlesha Sawant and Sumit Sachdev.
What about your
personal life?
I am trying to find the true meaning of
love. Right now, I am very much single.
I was into a relationship six months back.
He was a non-industry guy and I even intended
to get married to him. But with time, I
realized we are two different individuals
and my trip in life is something else. I
am content being single at the moment.
What's your philosophy
in life?
Life is so much about choices and not chances.
Ultimate purpose of life is a life of purpose.
What are your
future plans?
I certainly want to plunge into the vast
medium of cinema and eventually I also open
up a healing center.
